What if after Sanji reveals his conquerors, Killingham then pulls out Conquerors and the fight continues on, would that do anything for you?
I definitely don't think Killingham has or should have conqueror's lol. I'm hoping for a cool Longinus technique that would be countered by Sanji in their final clash.

Or are you looking for Backstory?
Eh, it's perfectly fine that both Sommers and Killingham have no backstories, it's not a necessary criteria for memorable henchman-type opponents at all. What I was hoping for with Killingham was characterization that was more uniquely pronounced that standard celestial dragon notions. His racism towards Jinbei for instance felt flat because it's to be expected. Sommers meanwhile had a distinctly nasty edge that Oda had fun depicting (until he flanderized him at least).

His developing dynamic with Sanji is a little endearing, I'll give him that. Hopefully Oda capitalizes on it in the little remaining screen time Kil has.

I think Oda built the characterizations of Sommers and Killingham pretty well:
  • Sommers is the veteran, he has been around for decades. He traveled, sailed and fought a lot. So he's been treating the Elbaf mission like an everyday job, starting pretty careless and superficial. His sadism is highlighted exactly because he doesn't really find fulfillment in focusing on the achievement of the 'professional' objective. Anyway his major experience makes him the de facto leader of the team, being the one that actually communicates with Elbaf via DenDen Mushi.
  • Killingham is the youngest (probably of all the Knights) so he's a bit more invested and still feels like he has something to prove. We can see that in his presentation as he was trying to be punctual and overthinking the situation. I actually think Killingham is more naturally gifted than Sommers but Killingham also naturally looks up to Sommers as the leader of the mission due to the difference in experience, and reports to him. They kinda have an Old Worker vs Young Worker dynamic, it was pretty clear when Killingham 'fucked up' and created Zaza.
Gunko is a very different character, she doesn't really belong.
