Character Discussion Thoughts on Scratchmen Apoo

#7
He is a character with a unique design and interesting powers but not much personality or presence thus far.

He is certainly gutsy since he was willing to throw hands with Kidd on multiple occasions and attacked Kizaru for the fun of it.
He’s a snake for allying with Kaido and entrapping Kid/Killer/Hawkins, but his design/abilities are cool and I’m excited to see him get stomped in Wano :dogood:
Definitely a good character. He is a snake, ready to take any opportunity to backstab someone.
Strength wise he's probably on the top, his df seems weird, so it's most likely op.
I really do not see why folk consider him a backstabbing snake.

He was already a subordinate of Kaido before his alliance of convenience with Kidd and Hawkins and his relationship with Kidd consisted of nothing but various levels of hostility. They mutually despised each other. It is not truly a betrayal if there is no genuine trust from any involved party.

That’s why I said he entrapped them, not betrayed them. He and Kid also didn’t like each other, that’s also true, but he can be a rotten guy separate from that, and allying with Kaido in the context of the story is such a move - it makes sense from a power/reputation standpoint, that doesn’t mean it isn’t a cheap or pathetic move.

Aww man, I cracked my ass up when he first happened and I love that they made him one of those double elbow guys if he's going to be the scratch man. And I love the piano teeth. I'm with the folks that have been entertained by the character but I'm not sure what I expect of him, moving forward.

Bonney is the one I'm most surprised has happened so little. Apoo kind of felt like a gag character from the get-go.
