I mean boruto exists so it's kinda still ongoing
But boruto is not officially the same series, it's moreso a spinoff set after the original sorta like beyblade zero g

They even did a stupid verson of the chunnin exams




Also the villains are just water downed versions of already existing characters eg wannabe akatsuki aka kara or wannabe kisame





The whole marketing of the show was about the next generation and would of been fine with it if each oe of these characters were unique but no they are rather just clones of their parents with respect to both design and moveset with the show's title being litterally called naruto next generation



Not to mention naruto was nerfed to the ground so genin could keep up, The whole problem could of been avoided if boruto just did his own thing rather then sharing a story line with his old man but whatever kodachi had free reign to do what he wanted

If you compare it to Naruto, it does look like a copy, but it aint, it has some good things too and good development, sometimes things we didnt have for Naruto, a bit more of their growth.
