Maki was a great character cause she had everything going against her and excelled in a world where she was being held back.

now everything is removed and she just had too far of a rapid growth in such a short amount of time.

hell she's stronger than Todo now.

I'd say pre mai's death Maki was the overall better character but now i give it to Toji.

Toji is also stronger.

Sakurajima colony was JJK at its lowest. It was ultra boring and rock bottom. I almost stopped reading weekly cuz of it. Somehow fought my way through it, but it was definitely difficult and the worst stretch of JJK chapters.

I would say Toji. He is the only one who left his mark as an antagonist/opponent against Gojo.

His motivations, life's goal and his connection to Megumi was well addressed.

Pre-culling game Maki was doing fine. But after that? She went downhill, like some other characters including Yuta.

She is not bad, but she already peaked after completing her revenge. One can argue that she has completed her character arc but I feel like there is something missing or the execution was not great.

Did we get any reactions from other protagonists on her Zenin clan's massacre? Not even from Gojo, ig.

Similarly, Nobara's back story was also amazing. But nobody mentions her anymore, not even Gojo when he was talking about deaths in Shibuya.

Lack of tier 2 villains in Shinjuku is really hurting other characters. I would have accepted Mahito coming back just for them to do sth other than commentating.

Good decision. Yeah Naoya became a cursed spirit. Two plot convivences, can't even call them characters, appeared and helped Maki finally reach Toji's level. Literally the 2 guys appeared in like 2 chapters and were never seen again. Only to help Maki train in the middle of a fight. Legit the guy opened the domain where he and Maki wrestled, and conveniently in his domain time passes by faster than normal lmao. Lowest point of JJK.

I like Toji more but in terms of who's the better character I flip flop all the time. Both are top 4 for me in the series

He had it coming. He was a deluded guy that thought he could stand with Toji and Gojo, and a chauvinist. He wasn't gonna get a good ending. But the fight could have been handled better, yeah for sure.

you got to admit antagonist wise he would've been a good addition to the chaos, dude was going after megumi and the entire entire plot point died with him.

since Mai dying everything Maki has done has been garbage, 15 fingers wasn't even an impressive feat.

The best thing that could have happened to the Culling Games was releasing Mahito on them. Boy would thrive.

Liked Maki way more than Toji before, was super excited to see her steady progression at one point

All went to shit with the Zenin Massacre (which was also terrible)

Sakuraijima is the worst stretch of JJK by far as well. If I listed all of the problems with it I’d be here all day

Toji is cool, don’t love him but he’s enjoyable

nah Kenjaku was still a tier above him, Kenjaku at best I want to be generous and say 15 fingers-ish.

Powerscaling wise that Sukuna saved him but Sukuna would've been absolutely shit on by Gojo at the time.

& Kenjaku got not only Mahito but Jogo who was 8 finger caliber and I'd say Hanami was at least 6-8 fingers with Dagon who I think surpassed both once he had is awakening moment.

He also beat both Choso and Yuki /:

its a lot of feats tbh

he even has a binding vow with Sukuna, so his prowess outside of just strength is telling.
