Would you love for him to actually yonko level, want him to stay how he is, don't care, etc.

it would be disrespectful
watching luffy invest time and sweat for decades ( in our time ) at least to be that strong
just for buggy to take the shortcut.

Also in a strory with vauge science and devil fruit abilities aka magic if we being honest. Stuff like making buggy actually strong can be done in a not as bs way not that i believe it'll actually happen

Buggy would be immune to haki imbued sword. Buggy's df makes his body does split around the blade and it won't touch Buggy. He just splits when you cut him, that's how Buggy's df works. Haki doesn't nullify df. Shanks said to Buggy in chapter 0 that you can't get hurt no matter how much they cut you and he didn't bleed against Mihawk in pre-TS Marineford could be a solid evidence that he is immune to black blade

He is symbolic (comic relief) so even if he attains more status than yonko than i don't expect it to be through power
Right now his cross guild is the symbol of pirate king himself you have croco boy (wealth), buggy (fame) and mihawk (power)
But i'll always daydream about him awakening his fruit and disecting red line into pieces
