Maybe Bam can get rid of it? I can even imagine Yama stabbing himself to find and get rid of it. I’d imagine once that’s gone and the fear disappears, that’s when we’ll see Yama enter full transformation!

This is most certainly the implication. In exchange for their survival, Doom made a deal with him and Yas put some sort of "fear" in them. That makes them be at an inherent disadvantage while facing him.

As Yas said, thanks to that, the Canines became his puppets.
