I can imagine Baam being intended to be a vessel of V from the start, but something going wrong causing V to go to sleep and the "empty vessel" (Baam) gets to start developing memories and emotions of his own.

This is getting interesting. Technically, Bam and his team is in a pinch where they have to rely on other family head for protection. Kind of like surviving Yonko saga in One Piece. Either you get protected from family heads or be a family head yourself.

I dont know where it will go, but I think SIU would like to establish Bam as a separate entity, away from the shadow of a family head like Traum or Gustang.
