Translation from ToG discord by EhnArGee:

Summary:
  • Tram says it’s the first time he’s played chess where he knows his defeat from the very start
  • Traum and Gustang talk about life
  • Traum says one left his side (Kirin) and the other stuck around (Robadon)
  • Traum talks about his first successful experiment, Wang (Yama’s dad), and felt a little happy. He got to see Yama earlier, the son of his experiment which was interesting
  • Traum wanted to feel like a God, a real God (assuming he’s talking about higher ups from outside the tower)
  • Gustang calls Traum lonely and stupid but still evil
  • Gustang wins the chess game
  • The whale chess piece enlarges into a full sized entity and is introduced as a manager?
  • Whale says he is taking back the status of family and blessings he gave Traum which he agrees to
  • Urek seems to know the whale as he says, “That’s… !”
  • Traum tells Gustang, “About Zahard, the fact that you don’t know well. Do you know?” then blank text bubble but Gustang is shocked by the message.
  • Traum starts feeling lonely, cries, then laughs, sees Ameuz and uses Disconnect to off himself (seems like he could’ve just lived as an irregular but without FH status)
  • Urek is a little irked he killed himself
  • Gustang tells Traum that he’s an idiot even to the very end and closes his eyes. Gustang says he’s lonely too but that’s an emotional luxury
  • Traum has a convo with Ameuz about flowers and life. She tells him she wants him to be like a wide grassland while she’s a small flower on it to which he agrees.

This death will send a shockwave through the tower and create a storm (for lack of a better word). Zahard and his supporters just got weaker, FUG got stronger, and a new faction was introduced. Overall, I like this arc, could the chapter have been better? We probably could have gotten this reflection on Traum's decisions sooner, but I am not mad at it. Mazino witnessing what transpired was pretty cool. I am ready for the fallout of everything that occurred here to start being revealed hopefully in the next arc.

Well Traum's death/defeat was somewhat predictable ( though if it wasn't because of Urek / V and all the other sh** i feel it could have been A LOT closer ) it was a good ending for him, he was evil he did some pretty evil shit won't miss him...

Wonder what will happen from here....

The FHs have been ruling the tower for a long time, i'm sure they pissed a lot of people and now that one of them died i wonder if many more will start joining FUG/Revo squad to go against them and take revenge.....if Gustand is still convinced that he has to take them all down even after he took his memories it means they ALL did some evil shit

I don't think we're getting the infamous princesses arc right after this since now V is in charge of Baam's body unless SIU wants to go the " rizz them all route " lol....but now the rythm changed so i hope stay focussed on FH leader matters....

And speaking of V with him FUG is now a 10 family leader level threat, prime V is in the top top dogs league Lulsec is also in his own league compared to branch leaders etc and with elders & slayers they're actually no fucking joke lol ( ofc when V will reach prime lvl but still damn! )

Also Zahard lost his most loyal companion i wonder how / if he'll react differently than others

I've had many issues with this arc, but this chapter wasn't one of them. Quite the opposite. I think this is one of the best chapters SIU has written and a nice closure to one of the best characters he has created in his long story as an author.

I'll be honest. I didn't have much faith in Traumerei's character at the start. Going back in time, I found his performance at the Nest to be very underwhelming in all senses, which prompted me to believe he was a clown sullying the name of FH. My expectations after that point became low for a while. I thought it'd be impossible for him to be more than an average antagonist. Oh boy, I've hardly ever been so glad to be wrong in my life.

Be it history, character development, personality, powers, actions, or design, SIU went all-out with him. Traumerei's character is so rich in all aspects that I genuinely believe you could write pages upon pages analyzing him. I would never have expected a character like that to come out of Season 3, a Season I consider to be among the lowest points of ToG in general.

Overall, he simply hit differently for me. So differently that SIU managed to make me feel pity and sadness for him at the end. I still can't believe he had the balls to write this chapter, but I'm so happy (and sad!) he did.

RIP Lo Po Bia Traumerei. SIU is going to have to do a LOOOOOOOOOOOT of work to top him. Regardless of what he writes in the future, I'm convinced that Traumerei will remain one of his greatest works ever.

Traumerei’s character was interesting and well written. Key incidents in his life, his anxiety and actions all made sense. Only thing I don’t get is how he suddenly thought of killing Gustang and co and starting a war to killing himself.

I get that Gustang’s questioning and use of his abilities to remind Traumerei of his past pushed him to the edge but the sudden shift after V’s attack is abrupt. Maybe I should reread.

Traumerei as a character was interesting, well written and quite powerful too. He’s easily more powerful than Gustang imo. His disconnection ability made thematic sense for him as well. Ripple effects of one of the FHs death is gonna be massive. We are entering into endgame of ToG I think.

Honesty I am disappointed in how traumerei's end was handled. Would have preferred much more if he remained vile and evil till the end.

The redemption if you can even call that felt rushed to me and didn't sit right with me.

Traum was an 8/10 villain for me and had potential to be an 10/10 villain.

He has now become 7/10 for me.

What an ending for Traumerei. That was the best send off for a villian I’ve seen in a while, for sure the best in ToG. I’m more interested in how the dynamics in the Tower is going to change after this arc tho, you got a family leader dead, Gustang declaring war on the rest, V or as it will probably be reported Baam being one of the main contributors to his downfall and the return of V himself making FuG an actual threat now depending on how long he retains control.

Highkey expecting to see many more important character reveals during this, more family heads, should definitely be seeing Adori at this point if not Zahard himself. This arc pretty much brought end game lvl stuff, we need to see the end game cast.

I thought more or less the same early on when he had the big gas mask on but after the first flashback SIU started to show more depth before putting it all together with a strong closure to his story. Zahard has a solid chance of topping Traumerei, dude seems to be in more shambles than Traumerei was. Especially after Enne found out about him locking himself in the red district.

I think it's about time we had enne rescue arc or something along the lines.

Only thing I don’t get is how he suddenly thought of killing Gustang and co and starting a war to killing himself.
For the war, Zahard asked him to deal with Po Bidau on his behalf. Of course, Traumerei had no reason to accept it just like that, so he put conditions that can mainly be summarized as getting Baam for his Family. Even then, he was just expecting this to be a proxy war. He never expected to have to engage in a death battle against Gustang due to the promise they made of maintaining their relationship and never hurt each other. Traumerei had no intention of killing Gustang, but ended up having to fight with that intent after hearing what Gustang had in mind.

As for why he decided to kill himself now, the latest chapters made it clear Traumerei was self-conscious. He knew the kind of monster he had become, but was unable to feel remorse for his actions nor did he had the capacity to end his life. The Immortality Contract seemed to suppress his emotions, and he continued to delete painful memories through Leviathan.

The gist of what happened this chapter is that once the contracts were lifted off, all the emotions that had been suppressed during tens of thousands of years suddenly came to him all at once. Joy, anger, sorrow and of course deep regret. He finally felt the depth of his sins. He couldn't cope with what he had become and immediately decided to commit suicide.

I'd say this was a bit foreshadowed with Leviathan. Leviathan contains most if not all of Traumerei's past memories and emotions. He's a part of Traumerei, a part that embodies his original person the most. Essentially, you could say that Leviathan's deep hatred towards Traumerei is not his own, but Traumerei's hatred towards himself for what he had become. A hatred strong enough to make him want to kill himself. This is a believable interpretation because as soon as Traumerei recovered these emotions, he immediately suicided (he could finally do so because he no longer had the Immortality Contract).
