underrated characters:
Maynard (he is weak, but he makes up for it with persistence)
Akainu (many think he is too weak to push Luffy to his limits now, next arc will prove them wrong)
Caribou (he is playing the Blackbeard Pirates, not a true admirer)
Smoker (will return with adanced CoC)
Kid (will return with advanced CoC)
Doflamingo (will return with advanced CoC and Abyssal Mark)
Limejuice (was matched against Lafitte on Marineford, so might be current Nr. 3 of Redhair Pirates)
Wapol (He is so close to Vivi, he will play an important part in the Final Saga)

A few months ago I would have put Sommers in the list to, but many more now appreceate him.

overrated characters:
Imu (sure he is the final villain but many are exaggerating the gap between him and Luffy, he just knows how to fight against the Nika powers, that Luffy hasn't mastered yet)
Loki (at is peak he will narrowly win against Shamrock, he is very strong but this talk about him being so much stronger than Luffy is a little too far)
Kizaru (will lose to Sanji soon)
Lucky Roux (will lose to Vasco Shot)
Yasopp (will lose to Van Augur)
Kuzan (will lose to Kid)
Crocodile (will lose to Nami)
Weevil (will lose to Chopper)

Different fanbase underrates and overrates characters to match their agendas all the time.

Hardcore yonko stans downplay admirals.

Extreme admirals fans slander yonkos

Some extreme Sanji fans slander and downplay Zoro and vice versa.

--Admirals are underrated if anyone believe they are mid diff material for yonkos or lower.

--Admirals are overrated if anyone believes they are level above yonkos.

--Old gens are overrated if anyone believes they are much above characters like Kaido

Etc.

Kid (will return with advanced CoC): I don't think so, we haven't seen him even use or mention the use of basic CoA

Loki (at is peak he will narrowly win against Shamrock, he is very strong but this talk about him being so much stronger than Luffy is a little too far): yeah he's not some god tier fighter, but he is one of the strongest character left in the story.

Crocodile (will lose to Nami): this is going too far

There are some interesting ones that are underrated. Wapol for sure. Oda could get very creative with his devil fruit power in the finale. And let's not forget he also has a subordinate with an afro.



Imu's notable mention of Brooks hairstyle spoke volumes.
