Character Discussion Understanding Bellamy

Bellamy’s dream was to become a pirate, this is the reason why Dofi doesnt like him at all and the reason that even at the first time Luffy meets him Luffy likes him, because deep inside Luffy knew that Bellamy believes in dreams just like any pirate does who set sail to become a pirate.

but Bellamy wants to become a pirate because of Doflamingo, and got things twisted to him because Bellamy taught that pirates only does what Doflamingo does and he also do the same thing until he met Luffy, who believes in the Sky Island and even kick his ass just because Bellamy stole somebody’s gold thats the time Bellamy realize that probably pirates doesnt have to be what doflamingo does and what made him also change is when he saw Luffy’s big shadow on skypiea when he defeated eneru. Basically its like this what Luffy thinks what Pirate is when Bellamy was a kid thats what he taught was pirate was but things was twisted when he met doflamingo or saw him basically he believes that pirates set sail to the seas to become free.

literally if Luffy has a opposite it would be Bellamy, and Luffy wont become strong as he does if he didnt met who he met during his adventures.

Back then, Bellamy was one of the few pirates who acted and looked like real pirates. It's not for nothing that Jaya is visually reminiscent of the port cities of the pirate era, just as Hachinosu is very similar to a Caribbean island. The former Bellamy and the current Blackbeard bear the greatest resemblance to real pirates.
That's why I see it as a mistake that Oda brought him back. Today we know that he was just a Doffy fanboy and is more like a teenager trying to find his own way. I also don't see the relevance of bringing him back from the supposedly dead. But I wonder if we'll ever find out what happened to his crew on Sky Island.

I really hope that the incoming arcs will have their set on islands like Jaya or Hachinosu to get more of that ol' dirty pirate theme.
The way Bellamy was explored was good tbh, he was sort of the kid that admired that high-status and succesful gangster (Doflamingo). What happened in Dressrosa gave more weight to Bellamy's words in Jaya (specially the scene in which he was punished by Doffy) imo.
As for the Sky Island, Wyper probably fucked Sarquiss & co...

Bellamy looked expecially pitiful in Jaya arc :crazwhat:

At least he improved since then
