Saint Jaygarcia Saturn was such a boss. He had a terrified aura in his demon form introduction, also in Kuma's flashback and also in some specific scenes.

The main problem is that Oda couldnt make him and other gorosei look the real threat they are in the fights scenes. So he looked a little lame in the fights. But thats doesnt cancel his absolutely unique aura (and I think the others gorosei wont have all this build up like he had)

Legitimately one of the best moments of the arc. Everything about Saturn’s entrance was epic. The mysterious demonic circle with fire & lightning, commanding all the Pacifista, having all the top fighters reacting to it, blowing off the head of a marine, and the boss aura with both hands resting on his cane.

Oda just had to ruin it, but before that he certainly had one of the best “aura” in the series.

I do have many unpopular opinions. I don’t care what a lot of people care about. One of the best examples has to be Shanks’s entire character. I’m not impressed by hype or even strength unless there are deep psychological layers involved, preferably sth dark, which makes them deeply flawed.

Zoro is the Warrior of Science and Warrior of Hope.

Nightmare Luffy took the place of Nightmare Zoro.

Zoro took the place of Luffy when Nothing Happened.

Both passed out after taking the others place, if Zoro took in the shadows, he would've been fine after. If Luffy took Nothing Happened, Luffy would've been fine too.

Using Dr. Hiriluk's definition of a "pirate", you can replace Pirate with the word, "Dream".

Luffy being Pirate King, could be seen as, "Dream King". While Zoro's title can be seen as "Dream Hunter", which was emphasised in the Nothing Happened chapter title as well.

Could the true meaning of Zoro's Pirate Hunter title be him hunting the dreams of pirates?

Did Kuma's test really kill Zoro, and make him achieve a Nika like feat?

If Luffy took Zoro's test, does Zoro's Nika form have something to do with taking in 100 shadows?

The power of Luffy's mind was unable to absorb the soul power of 100 shadows for a long time. Luffy personally calling Zoro, Onigashima, is Luffy hinting at how many souls Zoro can contain at 35.400 souls at time of the raid.

This is what Zoro means when he said he'd "become" the King of Hell.

This is gonna is spark some uh, unamused responses but I genuinely believe Bonney should have CoC.

When you think about her circumstances and what has dealt with whilst still only being a child and even leading a crew as a Supernova/Worst Generation and thus infamous captain at the mere age of 10 years old (pre TS), it's nothing less than extraordinary. Obviously she knew her crew from Sorbet and they were watching over but alas.
The only female Supernova too.

But then again given how Oda handles CoC with some characters, it's probably pointless too.

@Yoho I completely agree about Momo having CoC from your 5 missed opportunities thread too.

It always really bothered me doesn't have it given who his father is and extremely misunderstood and underestimated he is.

The poor kid has been through so much and never given up and now is effectively/literally Kaido 2.0 firing full boro blasts in a fully grown dragon form just like Kaido (ironically Kaido should be proud or amused at least if he could see this) and I wanted him to have his big Conqueror’s haki awakening moment during that execution scene when Kaido taunted him too.

Sanji fans probably won't like this but he'll never get coc he doesn't have a conquerors ambitions, greed or mindset

That's one of my biggest criticisms of Oda too lmao. Sanji should have shown it vs Black Maria or vs Judge too. I would have liked Law to get it too.

But I also think CoC should be more related to not just ambition but an ambition, a will to keep living, the ultimate will to resist and persist, to defy death, fate, logic and such. And that anyone could potentially awaken and get it but only a few, only a true few can tame and master it to its full potential regardless, the "very very strongest" even.

This whole having to be "lucky enough" to be born with CoC, to have luck determine if you can awaken it and it being genetic too really bothers me, I hate this kind of writing in anime and such.

Hakai was an ACoC combo finisher attack.

Luffy, Law, Kid and Killer would all be wiped out except Zoro if they were hit by it, because CoC attacks, are attacks that do true damage to the mind.

Zoro's mind is so strong, Asura is used to represent how strong it truly is, by creating two minds out of thin air to represent how strong it is.

Luffy would've been completely fine physically, and would not have any broken bones compared to Zoro, but he would've been knocked out cold.

Luffy restarting his heart after taking a direct ACoA attack from Kaidou, was the key to awakening his Nika form.

Zoro tanking Hakai's ACoC with his mind and body, awakened the green flames to awaken a form Zoro himself named, "King of Hell". Calling your attacks "King" is on a whole different level from just awakening ACoC normally. ​

1. Yamato is an underrated as stand alone character.
(But I agree that her inclusion didn't really add anything other than some nice parallels with Ace/Roger)
Has a good backstory, fun character but did not even join the SHs which made it all seemingly pointless.

2. Ace is at least lower YC1 tier. I think he washes all the other 2nd commanders asides from Sanji and maybe Lucky Roux

3. I think Mihawk is probably slightly stronger then Shanks

4. Oden is Yonko level (This shouldn't be a hot take but some how surprisingly is)
