Also even if father was here although his sun attack would be would be lethal for obvious reasons couldn't the demons just kill him before he uses it?

Kokushibo alone can literally blitz everybody and kill them multiple times. Demon Slayer characters are extremely hypersonic. This is a complete mismatch.
