Character Discussion Usopp what was the point..should i drop OP or wait for Elbaf

#1
he was cheated out of a fight in enos lobby, offpaneled in dressrosa and got no fight in wano. not to mention he got a severe assbeating with snot and tears involved in every arc excluding alabasta, skypeia, fishman island wci and zou.

hes not relatable he basically a punching bag with slightly racist undertones. FYI i dont dislike Usopp i just think Oda has wasted him as a character. the transformation from his original design to what he is today leaves a bad taste in my mouth. while he's responsible for some of the best panels in one piece i dont see what the point in his being is. if we compare him with some charchaters like kuwabara or krillin its much easier to be fans of them. both are arguably the strongest humans in their berse or something close in a respectable manner.

usopp on the other hand has tons of potential and grows at a rate pitiful compared to his experience. hes constantly surpassed by characters who do much less. for a human capable of taking down two guards with guns using a slingshot with no former training. he now has super human strenght that plays no factor in his fights.a genius designer who makes weapons that allow Nami to fight well above her means but not capable of creating a weapon strong enough to do the same. He constantly shows acts of bravery and risk his life for his comrades but is still labeled and acts as a coward. seen as a rolemodel and god tonthousands of people yet never gets a chance to show his leadership skills.

if your an Usopp fan what are your hopes for him. to see him beaten to a bloody pulp ignore all his weapons and win due to some loophole or stroke of luck. and i wasnt sure about the racism part until I saw how Oda drew him in the future if his life went well versus if it didn't.

I truly despise powerscalers. To say that usopp was misused in enies lobby is the most idiotic thing one can say. Usopp carried his sniper duties in enies lobby and saved robin.

Wano fans are mad at enies lobby because it is a great arc and are painting it like reading enies lobby week to week will breed hate. Cool dude. Cool.

Oda doesn't develop characters. Usopp has become a shadow of himself just like the other sh's

Im also sad on how Oda write Ussop post ts. At least he shoot BM in the face this arc which means a bit of progress in overcoming his cowardice.
But im sorry, W7 and Ennies lobby was Ussop's best moment in the entire manga. From him challenged Luffy on 1v1 battle, and then shooting the damn WG flag, saving Robin's life thanks to his Snipping skill, and finally taunting Rob Lucci head on just to make Luffy stand again and not giving up. Those were Ussop's epic moments for me.

Usopp used to be my favorite character back in Dressrosa. There were signs that Oda was finally going to develop him by giving him observation Haki and yet ten years later Oda has yet to discuss Usopps haki. My recommendation is drop One Piece after Wano. If Oda is going to develop Usopp in Elbaf, it will be a cheap power up or "character struggle" like how Oda did with Sanji. Not worth reading the 100+ chapters Elbaf is going to end up being.

Dont expect anything from ussop. It's an unspoken rule that EVERY one piece fandom understand. Admiral tards, Yankers, you name it whatever. We all agree on that one: ussop is irrelevant.

So buddy boyo do yourself a favour. Don't ask winter to pardon a rose. Don't expect eternity from a mere mortal, don't expect ussop to be relevant!

Cheers

Usopp is one of the characters that suffer the most from a non-planned prolonged storyline.

Usopp's dream is, by no means, anything complex or "hard to achieve". I would even go as far as say that Usopp ALREADY is a brave warrior of the sea. Usopp's storyline should not be about being "fearless", but "overcoming his fears".

The problem is...since Oda doesn't know how to develop his characters aside from giving them specific highlight moments, Usopp becomes completely stagnated and....boring. I think his "CoO awakening" moment is absolutely moronic and uninspired compared to Coby's during Marineford, which reminded me a lot more of the little girl from Skypie. It was the most basic and predictable of all shounen PU's. The "do or die" moment.

But how would Oda shift Usopp's personality that people "know and love" from the beginning? How could he do that? No no. His creations are perfect the way they are and they will never change.
Not Usopp, not Luffy, not anyone. Except the girls. They will change by becoming pornstars wannabes.

And Usopp should get fights. Idk who the fuck thinks he shouldn't.

Usopp and Sanji had almost the same amount of major fights since Arlong Park.

Usopp vs Chew - Sanji vs Kuroobi
Usopp and Chopper vs Mr4 and Mrs Merry Christmas - Sanji vs Mr2.
Usopp/Sanji/Luffy vs Fat Priest
Then Sanji gets Jabura, but I would count the Usopp vs Luffy fight as a fight for Usopp. That was fucking marvelous.
Usopp vs Perona - Sanji vs Absalom.

If Sanji is a fighter, why the fuck wouldn't Usopp be one as well? He just fights "differently" than others. Too bad now he's carried by sheer dumb luck instead of his bluffs and strategies.
