Ok I'll give an intro.
20 years ago, an humongous Spacequake hit Eurasia killing more than one Billion people. Since then smaller Spacequakes have occurred across the globe.
It is discovered that the spacequakes are caused by Spirits when they enter the World. There are two organizations that are aware of the cause of the spacequakes. One wants to kill/capture them and another wants to save them.
Shidou Itsuka is someone with an unique ability that can seal Spirit's power, however it comes with a catch, he must kiss the spirits to be able to absorb their power. Hence they go on dates and go against the other organisation.
Later on the plot gets so much better.
Also there's a catch in the title "Date a Live"
In Japanese it can also mean "Dead or Alive" but the reason why the author chose this is LN's spoilers.
