My confusion stems from the fact that Flower is treating him like he's the greatest detective of all time when I'm not sure he demanded that treatment, he frankly was suspected for most of the last two phases
You're wondering why she protected Kavo instead of anyone else? Fair.

Scum isnt likely to try and kill Kavo tbh. While I believed he was town since day 1 he has proven to be an easy lynch if push comes to shove. Kinda like AM.

Why would you suddenly trust Kavo if you're the one who directed him? All it confirms is that he has an investigative ability.
He was the only claimed alignment cop, and AM flipped with a commute. So came to the conclusion he was probably just Town. Or at least not Mafia. Now with my super protect saving him he‘s confirmed non Mafia, so this assumption was correct.

No I didnt, she would be the mate in question and odd woman out and Kiku would basically be doing a risky play here given what I said.
That assumes Kiku is keeping tabs on that kinda thing, I don't think she would bother making the insinuation in the first place if she is aware that it's not actually a grounded accusation, that makes no sense.

Would require her to keep tabs if we wanna go the TMI route here, else its just a coincidence I guess.

Murder Mystery Scenario #3 - Celebration of the Golden Witch - Part 1

Ratchet

The End and the Beginning
The morning of the 5th arrived. There was a perfect silence around the island. Finding it a little strange, the cousins headed over to the main house, though the storm had picked up over the night, making it a laborious journey. As they arrived, they saw several of the adults in a fluster, and several others were as pale as death. Simply by the look on the adults’ faces, they were able to reason that something terrible had happened. In the dining hall, there had been a grotesque tragedy. 6 corpses were present and sat at the large table in the centre of the room. The time was about 7am.

Battler - “H-how could this…?”
George - “All 6 of them are dead.”
Kyrie - “Yes, they are certainly all dead.”
Battler - “All 6 died instantly, right?”
Jessica - “I’m not a doctor, but surely there is no way these deaths were anything but instantaneous.”
Gohda - “A-ahhhhh! Ahhhhhhh!”
Genji - “Gohda, please. Excuse yourself.”
Kyrie - “No, we shouldn’t split up.”
Maria - “6 deaths… -uuu.”
George - “We will need someone to look after Maria.”
Jessica - “She doesn’t seem too concerned!”
George - “Jessica, that’s enough!”
Jessica - “I’ve lost both my parents! What am I supposed to do?!”
George - “Hasn’t she lost hers, too? I’ve lost mine, and Battler lost his! We need to stick together.”
Battler - “George-aniki is right. In-fighting won’t help us.”
Battler - “He really was an old bastard. But he didn’t deserve to die like this.”
Kyrie - “Battler-san…”
Battler - “Genji, can we lock this room up please?”
Genji - “Of course, young master. But…”
Kyrie - “Battler is right, Genji. We should lock this room up, to preserve the crime scene.”
Maria - “We sealed the room, no Human alive could enter or leave. Well, a dead one, or a Witch, could though. Kihihihihi!”
George - “All the master keys had gone missing, so we jammed the doors to prevent them from fully opening, preventing someone from leaving the room.”
Jessica - “The room was completely sealed up. No one could gain entry without a master key.”

Ratchet

The End and the Beginning
They all headed to the guest house, where the cousins had slept so peacefully the night before. The servants stayed in the kitchen, away from the family members. As tensions rose, some of the more hot-headed members of their party had the idea of hunting for the culprit themselves. Of course, with the maelstrom swirling over the island, this was ill-advised, but eventually tensions reached a boiling point. Jessica had insisted that it must have been the work of the Servants, because master keys don’t simply go missing. To that end, they decided that the servants would leave, and instructed Genji to take them and return to the main house.

Several hours later, Jessica began to feel bad about her outburst and, as a collective, they decided to go to the main house and apologise as a family. The time was about 3pm.

As they entered the kitchen, they smelt the scent of iron. Sure enough, both Gohda and Kumasawa were dead.

Jessica - “N-no… nooooooo!”
Battler - “Dammit! Dammit!”
Kyrie - “To think it would be Genji…”
George - “Genji? Why him?”
Battler - “We all have alibis. No one left the room. The only one who could have done this is…”
Maria - “I’ve been telling you. It’s Beatrice!”
Jessica - “Shut up, just shut up! Why do you have to be so creepy!”
Maria - “Kihihihihihi! Creepy? That’s not right, Jessica. You should respect Beatrice, otherwise you might be next!”
Jessica - “What did you…!”
George - “Jessica! You too, Maria!”
Jessica - “Tch. Why does she have to be so… so… weird?”
Maria - “Uuu! I’m not weird at all. Actually, you’re the weird ones. Uuu!”
Jessica - “Really?!”
Maria - “Uuu. You haven’t figured it out, have you Jessica?”
Battler - “Maria…?”
Maria - “As servants, they could be considered close, right?”
George - “You mean…”
Maria - “Uuu! These murders are following the epitaph.”
Jessica - “You mean to tell me… some sick bastard is killing us all, and treating it like some make-believe Witch is doing it?!”
Maria - “You really are stupid, Jessica. Beatrice is real. Look, she’s here right now.”
Battler - “That’s enough. Let’s establish the facts here. These bodies are absolutely Gohda and Kumasawa. They are dead.”
Kyrie - “Correct. The door was locked, too.”
Maria - “Yup, they sure are dead.”
George - “Genji is missing. It has to be him, but…”
Maria - “Why don’t you just believe, George? It’s Beatrice.”
Jessica - “You don’t seem too concerned, Maria. You lost your mother too, right?”
Maria - “I don’t care about that. I’ll see her in the Golden Land, anyway.”
Battler - “As before, we sealed the room. No one could enter or leave.”
Kyrie - “With the room completely sealed, we left the corpses to rest.”

They searched the house looking for Genji, and of course, found nobody. During their search, they found that the door to Kinzo’s study was open. Deciding it would be the safest place, they rested there for a few hours.

Battler - “Grandfather is missing too. He’s surely already dead.”
Kyrie - “Actually, we, the adults, have suspected that he died years ago.”
George - “What…?”
Kyrie - “In the absence of proof of life, we can assume he was dead before we ever arrived here.”

The clock struck 7pm. Growing restless, they decided to explore a little more, though with the light fading, Kyrie and the cousins agreed to meet back up in one hour's time, at the Head’s Study. The cousins decided to stick together, and one hour later, when the clock struck 8pm, they went to their meeting point. Of course, Kyrie was nowhere to be seen.

Searching the house as a group, they found two bedrooms were locked. The first was the VIP room, and the second was Natushi’s bedroom. They broke into Natsuhi’s room first, destroying the door.

There, they found the body of Genji, sprawled over the bed. He had a stake through his chest.

Battler - “Genji is dead.”
Maria - “Genji is dead.”
George - “Could perhaps… Kyrie have done this?
Battler - “It’s possible. Both this room and the VIP room have their own keys - Master Keys do not work on these locks.”
Battler - “I found the key to the VIP room on Genji’s body.”
Maria - “Uuu. If the chest is staked, then that means…”
George - “We should check the VIP room.”

The End and the Beginning
They entered the VIP room. It was locked, but the key found on Genji’s body opened it. Inside, they found Kyrie’s body. Her forehead was pierced with a stake.

Battler - “No… Kyrie is dead.”
George - “Kyrie is dead…”
Maria - “On the fourth twilight, the head is gouged. On the fifth, the chest is gouged. Could that mean Kyrie was dead before Genji?
George - “Impossible! She must have killed Genji, and then killed herself.”
Battler - “Calm down, George-aniki. That doesn’t make any sense.”
George - “But…!”
Battler - “The room Genji was in was locked. I found the key to that room on Kyrie’s body - and the key to the room Kyrie was in, was on Genji's body. There is no way for the door to be locked without the specific key to the room, even from the inside.”
George - “But that doesn’t make sense!”
Maria - “It’s obvious. Beatrice killed them both.”
George - “Genji was the only person alive who could have killed Gohda and Kumasawa, wasn’t he?”
Battler - “And yet, he was most certainly killed by someone other than Kyrie.”
Maria - “Uuu. Where has Jessica gone?”
Battler - “She was with us when we entered Natsuhi’s room…”
Maria - “She definitely wasn’t with us when we entered the VIP room.”
Battler - “Then somewhere between us entering Natsuhi’s room and entering the VIP room, Jessica vanished.”
George - “We were so distracted, we didn’t notice.”
Battler - “No one was hiding in this room, at any point from when we entered, which meant Jessica had certainly left.”
Battler - “We sealed the VIP room back up, and placed duct tape over Natsuhi’s room, preventing entry or exit for both rooms."
George - “We then searched for Jessica.”

The search for their missing cousin took them outside, into the swirling rainstorm. They noticed light coming from the store room, and headed over there.

Inside, they found the body of Jessica, hung with a noose around her neck. A stake was plunged into her stomach.

Battler - “Jessica is… she’s dead…”
George - “Jessica is dead.”
Maria - “Both Genji and Kyrie must have been killed before her. She clearly died recently.”
Battler - “Yes, she was, at least, certainly alive when Genji was killed.”
Maria - “You are incompetent, Battler. The stake in the stomach signifies the completion of the sixth twilight, which means the order was Kyrie, then Genji, then Jessica.”
Battler - “Ugh… I can’t make sense of this!”
Maria - “No one was hiding in this room.”
George - “We sealed the storehouse up, preventing entry or exit.”

As the cousins arrived back at the house, George suddenly ran off. Battler tripped over trying to chase him, and lost sight of his cousin. Maria stayed with Battler, finding the whole thing amusing.

Maria - “You really are incompetent, Battler. Isn’t the detective supposed to make a heroic chase at the end? And look at you, falling over at the crucial moment. Kihihihihi!”
Battler - “George… why would he run away?”

Shortly after, they entered the main hall. To the side, the portrait of Beatrice, the Golden Witch, watched over them. Beneath it lay the epitaph. After catching their breath, they heard a gunshot coming from the lobby. Both Battler and Maria ran over there, and tried to open the door. It was locked. Battler broke it down, and inside found the body of George.

Battler - “George is dead.”
Maria - “And look, there is a stake through his knee.”
Battler - “Sure enough, a stake was driven through his knee.”
Maria - “That means only one more is needed before the Witch revives.”
Battler - “Could this… really be the work of a Witch?
Maria - “Just believe, Battler. If you do, you can be happy again. We’ll see them all in the Golden Land, where we will forever be happy and loved.”
Battler - “The door could only have been locked with a master key. Well, we can assume the culprit must have one anyway.”
Maria - “But only servants have master keys. In total, there were three - Genji’s, Kumasawa’s and Gohda’s.”
Battler - “I sealed the lobby with duct tape. Not that it mattered any more, but no one would be able to enter or leave.”

The End and the Beginning
Battler and Maria left the lobby. As Maria walked over to the portrait, another gunshot was heard. She counted to 30, before turning around. There, she saw the body of Battler, with a stake jammed through his calf.
Maria - “Uuu. Battler is dead.”
Maria - “His death was instant.”
Maria - “The stake in his calf means that the 8th twilight has concluded.”
Maria - “This means Beatrice has revived, and we will all go to the golden land soon.”
Maria - “Kihihihi! It was common sense, wasn’t it? Humans can’t beat a Witch.”

Maria wrote the events of the two days into her diary, or rather, her grimoire, and looked upon the portrait. She laughed in victory, and alongside her, so did the Witch. The clock struck Midnight.
