The whole flashback with Kuma also shows how vegapunk truly he is. He even begged Kuma to pushed out his memory just for science. I

don't think he realise what he did is wrong. He just so naive. He think everything is good. He work with scummy people in mads and thought it just for peace. He also thought cloning is good. He is more optimistic and idealistic that he can't smell his own shit. That's how vegapunk is.
