In Dressrosa, Franky stated that he had no interest in consuming a Devil Fruit, due to it making him unable to swim.
As a shipwright, being able to enter the water is very important, and, since Franky is so heavy, him just outright sinking would be awful for him. So, for a long time, I just gave up on the idea of Franky becoming a Devil Fruit user...
Until Vegapunk introduced Green Blood, the liquid that allows the Seraphim to copy different Lineage Factors.

Unlike the Seraphim, Franky's Cyborg body allows him to inject whatever liquid he wants into his circulatory system, changing even his personality, as seen in his fights in Enies Lobby when Chopper was giving him anything but Cola, and his adventures with tea on Baldimore post-Sabaody.
Since Franky's cola is like a consumable, Franky theoretically could use Green Blood to temporarily give him Devil Fruit Paramecia Powers, such as Senor Pink's Swim Swim Fruit. Since Franky stores his cola inside of him and only uses it as necessary, storing Green Blood within a container within him would not cause him to suffer the effects of the Devil Fruit curse, until he had physically injected the Green Blood into his own circulatory system.
Always remember, Franky is a cyborg FUELED by Cola; as in, his circulatory system is literally dependent on Cola for energy.
Once Franky is modified by Vegapunk, he'll be able to cycle through various Devil Fruit Powers, while being able to swim while not using the Green Blood.
But, where will Vegapunk get the money to make Franky into a Seraphim?
Wano Act 4, baby, Kaido and Linlin are digging for gold under Wano in the old Land of Gold, yeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!
I also believe Franky will get Seastone weapons, but, he'll only be able to use them while not using his Green Blood Fruit powers, which is a fair trade off IMO.
I expect a few characters to get prosthetic Seraphim limbs, too (Shanks, Kyros, Neko, Inu, etc)
