Powers & Abilities Viz translation says Kuma’s Pain bubble must be “Accepted” for it to disappear

#1
I had this theory for a while regarding Kuma Taking Luffy’s G5 fatigue on Egghead. Because Kuma has to be the one to save Nika for Luffy to go the final round against Saturn. Oda had Luffy wipe himself out with G5 so that Kuma can remove the Exhaustion and take it himself

but the problem was well why doesn’t Kuma just shoot the Fatigue into a random marine or into Saturn himself… That was the more logical option but it wasn’t the symbolic one… Kuma has to to take the pain himself, that’s his whole gimmick now.

Well now the Viz is seemingly using wording that supports my theory. Kuma CANNOT shoot the pain into a random marine or Saturn. The pain can only go away if it’s “Accepted”. So the symbolism can be maintained without the logical issue of “why doesn’t Kuma use the pain on an enemy instead”

There's one thing to note though, removing fatigue won't make Luffy recover his stamina/Haki/power/whatever.

So Luffy can't instantly fight Saturn. Or instantly save Bonney from the impeding execution. Kuma/Robot needs to stall Saturn for sometime.

If it has to be accepted, why not just not accept it and leave it there... Seems like a giant plot hole.
It was said that those bubbles will return to the original owner(s).

The fact it has to be accepted makes Zoro's feat not so impressive anymore.

In Sabaody, Kuma points out Zoro's still alive and Zoro says "thanks to your mercy." Hinting Kuma cut it short.

But if it has to be accepted, that would mean Kuma had to take the rest.

The impressiveness comes from the fact that Zoro is badly injured, and then taking Luffy's fatigue.

And we know Zoro took everything, because there is no bubbles left when Sanji found him.

Yes, Kuma cut it short and took the rest before leaving. Zoro literally says "thanks to your mercy." He didn't take it all, Kuma stopped it, mercy.

Expectations after reading this : Sanji took Luffy's fatigue, paralleling & fulfilling Thriller Bark scene.

Like Sanji rescuing Robin in Water 7, then Robin rescuing Sanji in Wano parallel shit.

It's kino, but too good to be true.

It's true imho. But actually the more logical explanation isn't about that.

Now we know Kuma worship Dragon, and thus really care about Luffy (much more than our impression in TB).

Which means Kuma won't kill Luffy's nakama, so he cut it short. Because if he didn't, there is a chance Zoro will die.

Kuma, the saint he is, won't bet on that chance.

It didn't serve anything though.

That scene is one of One Piece's iconic moment.

Revising the scene to make it look worse, doesn't benefit anyone/anything.

It can still happen, even if we know Zoro is Oda's #1 favorite.

Remember
- Luffy's DF changed from normal Paramecia to Myth Zoan.
- Zoro turns out to be Ryuma's descendant.
- Sanji has top background & Vegapunk-level father.

There's zero evidence that this happened.
Okay, so as Zoro goes to the bubble, Oda CUTS AWAY from the scene, at that point we as the reader don't know what happens. We don't know if Kuma stayed and his being far away is a small time skip, or if he walked away early. Oda purposefully leaves us in the dark.

Next, we the reader have to follow Sanji who is told nothing, no context given. Just from the pirates who saw and said they thought he was dead.

Finally in Sabaody, Kuma and Zoro's exchange about being alive and mercy is Oda giving us the missing context he cut away from, giving the reader the whole picture. Kuma gave mercy and cut it short.

Or..or...Zoro took all the pain....and Oda left it simple and an awesome moment for Zoro. No need to revisit something that has happened for what, 15 years, which served no plotpoint and make his 2nd favourite character look less impressive.

If Kuma took away the bubble then he wouldn't remark on how Zoro is still alive

Sanji fans being insecure again:milaugh:

There were eyewitnesses who saw the whole incident. The same ones who told the cook what actually happened.

Plus the fact that Kuma didn't have a single injury on his body when he left TB.

But keep being delusional:cheers:

VIZ changed it to benevolence but if you look at the RAW it gives jihi aka mercy which is different.

If he had to cut it short because Zoro couldn't take more and was dying he would absolutely comment on him being alive, that he made it.

Which Zoro in turn says thanks to his mercy.

1st favorite. Luffy felt more special/exclusive only because he is the protag of one piece.
