General & Others Wano is objectively the Best Arc of Post Timeskip

#1
1. Strong Start

Wano has the STRONGEST start out of any arc post timeskip I'll explain why....
Now since were about 116 chapters in, since were doing a beginning middle and end section of Arcs post timeskip. The beginning of Wano would be from 909-947 Middle would be 948- 987 and End would be from 988- present. Something like that lol.

But honestly for the beginning I don't really need to go to 947

The Stretch of Chapters from 909- 925 alone is one of the strongest starts from a one piece arc since Marineford.

The iconic seppuku chapter introducing Wano, the return of the straw hats and Zoro cutting down the Seppuku house

12 chapters later we would get the return of Jack and his clash against Ashura Douji, as well as the first reveal of Kaidos Devil fruit.

2 Chapters Later we get the iconic Luffy vs Kaido fight

The Next Chapter We end the Act on Eustass Kidd returning to the story in a cell alongside Luffy

Next Chapter we get the Return of Mihawk, Moria, Blackbeard and his crew, information on the reverie and for the first time ever we are revealed a yonko Bounty.

King and Queen are also revealed in this chapter

No arc post timeskip has matched this Beginning energy.

2. Middle Portion

The Middle Portion of One Piece arcs has not been great as a whole Post Timeskip, Especially the earlier arcs. But the arc that Dominates all post timeskip in terms of Middle portion is not Wano...... its WCI.
WCI has wano beat drastically in this department

The Reveal of the Brokers most importantly Big News Morgan and Stussy

Reveal of Katakuri Big Moms strongest Commander and the highest Bounty in the story at the time.

The Wedding Chapters/Moments

Big Moms Flashback

GERMA 66 Raid Suit Abilities

Clash Against Big Mom

WCI has the best Middle portion of Any Post Timeskip Arc.

3. Ending

However it seems like Wano is going to have the Best and most Entertaining Ending portion of Any arc post timeskip,

The Strawhats all fighting together for the first time in 10 plus years. We get one of the Few Double Page Spreads of the Entire Crew in the series.

The Scabbards vs Kaido
Supernova vs Kaido

The Tobi Roppo Fights mixed with Lore and reveals

The current Wings vs All Stars fight mixed with Lore and reveals

And Now It seems Luffy and Momo are going to join Yamato to Fight Kaido

Because Wano Definitively has the Best Start and what is looking to be the Best Ending of any Post Timeskip Arc. It is objectively the best arc of Post Timeskip.
Which is good because Oda is improving upon the shit he did earlier In post timeskip. Now how it compares to pre timeskip is another discussion of itself but I do believe this content were getting in Wano is the Peak of Post Timeskip.

The real question is.... How do we feel about this peak?

Leave your thoughts.....
Do you feel like this is the best post timeskip arc or not?

Ι definitely agree with you. I mean its not perfect but i think its much better than many people think. The act 2 was kinda meh but overall its pretty good. Espesially the last 35 chapters. Its unpredictable and intense.

Wano is the worst arc for me. I want to be brief:
- Much too long. There will be at least 130 chapters.
- The whole thing with O-Lin and the amnesia was just stupid and a waste of time.
- Usopp (biggest disappointment) and Nami did not get the chance to defeat Page 1 and Ulti without help. Chopper and Brook didn't get a real fight at all. We saw their last real 1 vs. 1 fight almost 10 years ago on Fishman Island. It would be very easy: Chopper vs. Who's Who, Brook vs. Apoo & Jimbei vs. Jack.
- Why do the scabbards have to stand up again? It was an emotional moment when Luffy saw the samurai defeated on the ground and took over the fight against Kaido. Oda himself has robbed this moment of its importance because the scabbards are fighting again anyway. Same with Orochi. It was a great moment when Kaido cut off his head. He was afraid of the return of the scabbards for years, but ironically, it was his closest ally who killed him.
- Tama's morally questionable ability to rob Gifters & Headliners of their free will so that the opponents slaughter each other. What is the difference to DressRosa? It's also the worst case of Deus ex machina I've ever seen.
- Luffy's plot armor, which really pushes the boundaries here. Everything is predetermined by fate.

Yamato, Robin vs. Black Maria and Oden's flashback are not enough to compensate.

It's an ok arc and at this point I won't mention all the other flaws with it, just one huge problem:

It's just much too long.

Look, at one point you simply have to realize that 130+ chapters for one single arc are just too much in this era of shonen mangas.

With Oda's current pace that's about 4 years (or almost half a decade) we're spending at Wano.

In a series that's already over 1000 chapters long, this just doesn't cut it anymore. People - especially younger ones- simply lose interest and turn away. You can clearly see it with the sale numbers.

heck, I don't even blame them. I've been a weekly reader for way over a decade and I'm getting tired, too.

If you evaluate the quality of an arc through the amount of iconic moments within it? Yes!!!

Now if you assess the quality of an arc through the progression of the story, the organicity of the events and decisions of the script, the development and construction of the characters, the construction and development of the hype created about the arc? Objectively NO!!!

Wano is a medium arch, possibly not even enter into my top 10.

Take out everything Zoro did and it is the worst arc in One Piece

Everything Zoro did is top notch

So every panel of Wano that doesn't have Zoro (and Ryuma) in it is 0/10

Every panel of Wano with Zoro in it is 10/10

Given ratios Wano is like a 3/10 arc

Yamatrash is a disgusting character

Everyone has its own taste so it’s fine if you like Wano that personally I haven’t really liked for now.

About your separation : beginning, middle, ending

I think WCI beginning or Punk Hazard beginning were the best.

For WCI : the Cracker fight, the Sanji vs Lucy, and the enraged army were really solid. Sanji va Judge and Sanji with his family weren’t extraordinary but was okay. I don’t know where Pedro vs Tamago fits in everything but if it’s in the beginning then it was cool too.

PH is a small arc but the beginning really started with a bang named Law. The new shishibukai, and the fight with Smoker were really hype.

I have problems with Wano beginning. Luffy jumping on Kaido directly felt lame. The goal was to stay discrete and gather allies…. Zoro ronin moments were okay at best. same with Tama and her little adventure, I didn’t really fell it.

And I wouldn’t include Yonko bounties BB/Moria reverie etc in Wano. It’s like a different arc / story for me.

Wano is objectively the Worst Arc of Post Timeskip.

Fishmand Island is objectively the Best Arc of Post Timeskip since we actually got relevant information to the actual story line of One Piece. We learned about Joy Boy, we learned about Poseidon, we learned about the future of Fishman Island being destoryed, we learned about the extreme racism towards Fishman.

What have we learned in Wano? All we got were some lame fights. Oden's flashback was just a regurgitation of things we already knew.

Desert Waifu since Skypiea there’s always been 2 or 3 strawhats that don’t get a fight in a major arc. However they do get a moment of their own so let’s wait. And yea I know Wanos not perfect but these post timeskip endings have been very lackluster, dressrosa ending fight was underwhelming and arc was dragged. WCI final chapter was good but ending is overall somewhat underwhelming. I don’t see Wano’s ending being underwhelming. Everything people have asked for is happening for the most part.

We got more info in that Ultimate chapter 957 , than we got in All of Fishman island …..

Lmfao you mean the fake hype of the Rocks pirates? Yet another pirate crew Oda created out his ass last minute just to create more fake hype? Yall were getting hyped by Big Mom before WCI. Yall were getting hyped by Kaido before Wano. And tell me how that planned out? What makes you think Rocks will be any different especially when Oda had written 10 years of set up for Kaido alone.

Theres not a single category Fishman Island beats Wano at tbh, The best you can argue is maybe Artwork. The Strawhats are much better characters in Wano than Fishman island, fights are much better, Lore is much better. I'll give you the flashback part, from an emotional stand point fisherman island did have a better flashback but again. its Not close...

My problem is that the existing potential was not used. One reason are the Red Scabbards. They were defeated, but they had their big moment. After that, the Straw Hats should have done the job, but instead Kin'emon and the others have recovered and are fighting against those who would have been ideal opponents for Brook, Jimbei or Chopper. But the Scabbards are only secondary characters.
And why does Big Mom have to defeat Page 1 for Usopp? I would have wished for an entertaining team fight in which Nami and Usopp outdid their opponents with their cleverness. It was actually the perfect match pairing. Nami in particular can do so much more than just thunderstorm attacks. What about "Milky Road" and "Mirage Tempo"? Why don't we see that anymore? Both seem a lot more like supporting characters than Inuarashi, Nekomamushi or Raizo.

But tastes and opinions are different. I liked Totto Land, but I know a lot of people don't like this arc.

Well for 1 Brook and Chopper got low diffed by Perospero together, and they haven’t powered up since then. Idk how you could write them beating anybody the scabbards are fighting . Jimbei fighting Who’s Who is not bad , Who’s Who had a higher bounty than him and was a rokushiki master.
