General & Others Wano is objectively the Best Arc of Post Timeskip

One Piece fights were never the strongest thing for me.
So while I really like the flying 6 fights, and I'm hyped about the Calamities fights....the rest of the arc can rot in a dumpster for all I care.
Udon was the most imbecile training montage in this story, and it's not even a competition.
Wano/Onigashima are not the conclusion of a multiple arc storyline. It was an arc of its own because Oda couldn't help himself but wank the Japan of One Piece through the fucking galaxy.
His process of making people care about characters is simply giving the characters as much of a sad backstory as humanly possible. That's it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it is just...boring. Just waiting until we get Kaido's tragic backstory that will make us feel sorry for him or whatever the fuck Oda thinks will happen.
Wano is a garbage country. The samurai are garbage ass warriors. Oden is the cringiest character inside this story. I stopped caring about the scabbards after Kiku. Ninja squad? trash. Hotei's squad? LMAO. imagine hyping these freaking clowns.
Kaido's terrifying army of DF users? LMAO.
O-Tama? No comments.
Only good characters that came out of this shit are Yamato and Queen. King is a self-proclaimed mute and Jack was introduced in Zou, so he doesn't count, but he's awesome. Kaido? At this point, there's no "amazing backstory and motivation" that can save Kaido as a character. He is the character for 1 arc. Imagine waiting until the freaking final confrontation to start developing this character that most likely won't be around moving forward. All in order to suddenly make us care about him or feel sad or whatever. Fuck him. Big Mom is also already making extra time. Time to get rid of her. Thank god we got two fillernovas to get rid of her.
I am just waiting for us to FINALLY get the arcs of characters that have been built up for this entire manga. The Marines, Blackbeard and Shanks.
Fuck Imu. That's a trap and Oda should feel ashamed of coming up with this fucking dude out of nowhere. The Gorosei was "mysterious" enough.
We going into "harry potter" finale. Where Oda last wasted to much time building questions and questions and not giving answers, that he will rush through everything and make everything be connected somehow in order to fit it all in the end, because he's incapable of keep people interested in his story for this long, without appealing to cheap mysteries and new prophecies. "Nika"? Get that shit out of here.

If you take away Kaido's title as "The World's Strongest Creature" and his fascination with death, there's literally nothing interesting about him. Oda should have focused on developing Kaido in Act 2 and Act 3 instead of focusing on the Wano clowns.

I hope Teach kills Imu offscreen tbh.

Wano started fine then Udon camp ruined it, the raid became unbearable with dragging and stupidity . The war is a joke which sometimes gets good moments.

WCI has the best start and middle part!
It gave us so much, Oda didn't really drag plots nor made a kid be an mvp.
WCI has better designs, more interesting characters, more entertaining plots to discuss even tho wano revealed many secrets or infos.

Most people here have some good points on either side. I personally think its the best post time skip arc by a mile. However when you compare it to Enies Lobby/Water 7 and Marineford, thats when you notice how well paced they were compared to Wano. Wano felt like it dragged at times despite a ton of hyped moments. Anyway, the arc isnt over yet. If Oda delivers absolute fire chapters from here on out till the end, I may slot it a bit higher.

Wano is pretty trash.
Aside from the mediocre writting, and the the atrocious pacing and the stupid characters, there's two battle related plote devices i can never accept, and thoes are "enma" and the "raid suit" they are by far the worst power ups in every manga i ever read.

-Kaido and big mom are supposed to be a leathal threat, yes they are strong as hell but they lack aggressiveness too much, that's a major problem with most of wano's antagonists, the absence of bloodlust.

-Kid and the heart pirates have been unfairly ignored, even now they just fighting fooder, while only the straw hats get to defeat the top fighters.

-Wano's worldbuilding is lacking, i know it's important in the grand scheme of things, but the current struggle, the culture, the people, ideology... Are very underwhelming.
There's 30 thousand beast pirates in wano, but their presence before the raid is very rare, there too much room to breath, everyone can still do whatever they want.

-The samurai are the biggest disappointment, so they're supposed to be these sharp combatants but it's hard to believe when ussop can slip notes in their kimonos without getting detected.
The shogun is disappointing.

I dont think wano is objectively the best arc, and even if it was, that's not really a flex because Oda has shown that he struggles with a large arc covering a last cast of characters.

Wano has cool moments but nothing worth making it the best.

I'd take the 5 chapters of reverie over this.

"objectively"

Lmao you fucken wish. The only objective thing about this arc is that it's the longest one in the history of this series, like literally the longest when you combine all 3 acts together. Which helps go into why it's actually one of the worst arcs, not just in the post time skip, but in general.

It had a strong start, but so did both Whole Cake Island and Dressrosa, and they both ended up as fuck ups at the end too, so I guess Oda couldn't pass on the chance to make it 3rd times the charm lol.

Act 2 was pretty shit when it came to everything except the stuff we learned about Roger and Whitebeard.

And act 3 has screwed up in so many ways I don't know where to being with.

So overall as an arc that Oda has been waiting to get through, it's (in)expectedly the most terrible when it comes to his long-term arcs, he really needs to stick to the short stuff and focus more on his mysteries

Act 2 was mostly nice out of the Roger - Whitebeard super epic encounter and the Oden flashback

Act 3 has been nice for the rooftop clash

Act 1 is the one that bored me the most

Not sure if Act 4 will kick in or not but if it does it might constitute the final battle prominently

For me, it is by far the best arc post timeskip, albeit a bit too long.
If it ends the way it should, Wano will be one of the very best One Piece arcs, pre or post timeskip, like Enies Lobby and Marineford.

Yes,Wano is the best arc by far,we got more fights, more lore, more pu's for straw hats, supernovas got time to shine and we get to see Linlin and Kaido fall!
The only problem with Wano is the pacing!
