Yeah, I think that would be nice to start off with.

I think that out of all the Wano antagonists aside from the emperors, Ulti is probably the one I’ve been enjoying the most so far. I think she’s that rare character who has an excitingly vulgar personality and emphasizes on physical strength, yet balances it out with that sort of elegance and style Oda’s female characters usually have otherwise.

Despite her being one of my least favorites, I'm still holding on her having CoC.
That clash with her vs Luffy was way too specific, and it looks like people fainted.
Also her attitude towards Kaido was very independent/different compared to everyone else who either didn't care or tried to sweet talk/obey him.

I didn’t really care for her at first either, coming off as a brat, but then her character grew on me over time as someone who’s a brat in a sisterly/childishly fun sort of way, as well has how she was pretty casual in talking about viewing Kaido with idiocy in spite of warnings from others. I suppose I and some others also found it a stand out that Oda had a female character be like this and wasn’t designed as muscular and big like Big Mom, because physically strong female characters like that don’t seem too common within the series.

Out of the Topi Roppo, Ulti & Page One are probably my favorites. That's not exactly a high bar to cross since the rest of them are kinda lacking personalities right now, but the two siblings are usually a highlight of whatever chapter they're in. Their dynamic is really cute, and they can come off as legitimately threatening at times. When Ulti was just holding Nami with one hand ready to smash her skull in, she looked awesome. I'm probably most interested in what happens to them after this arc. Like the rest can just either die or get thrown into Impel Down, but I'm hoping these two get away somehow.

I don't really know what this thread is for, but I'm getting a little tired of shitting on Wano, so I do want to say some nice things. For example, this arc has some of the best action in this series. I don't want to get into the nonsense powerscaling stuff, just from the art & paneling, this action is amazing. I'm on my phone, so I can't post any panels, but there are several scenes that just made my jaw drop (like the Yonko Combo attack from the most recent chapter).

It’s basically for people who want to organize any thoughts about Wano and its arc into one thread as opposed to separating the thoughts into many smaller threads. I definitely want to emphasize on some positive things too, like how it might be my most favorite post-time skip arc, with how it introduces many characters without feeling like it’s zigzagging around too much, how one can really feel the progression of time such as by having weeks pass by within the arc itself, and we receive breaks in the form of getting to see the outside world while the arc is going on.

this is easily one of my favorite pages from Wano
Ulti is so cool even though I want Nami to electrocute her :finally:

What happened between Nami and Ulti was arguably her most dramatic moment post time skip so far, possibly even more than her confrontation with Sanji at Whole Cake. Really though, I’ve been getting a great sense of either struggle or perseverance from all the Straw Hats in this arc. It has been quite the roller coaster.

I hope Oda focuses on the Straw Hats' fights for as long as he needs to and I hope he doesn't off-screen too much. Man can show the rooftop fight (which has been pretty good so far and just keeps getting better) for the next 10 chapters straight, I just want him to show us 2 or so chapters of each Straw Hat fight once he breaks away from it.

I'm most hyped for Sanji vs King/Queen and I can't wait for that but I'm also really interested to see how Usopp pulls through against Page One. I think him unlocking armament wouldn't be too far-fetched given that he already has observation. Nami can get Zeus back so her beating Ulti won't be a surprise.

I wanted to see Jimbei vs Jack but he seems to actually have history with Who's Who so I'm fine with that as well, so long as we see some of the action. Franky's been doing great so far and I want him to show off that weapon he talked about building back at Zou. Brook/Robin vs Black Maria seems like it'll be pretty good as well (though I know a lot of people think Brook will leave that match-up and if that happens, I'm sure whatever his match-up is will be great).

I hope Chopper gets his match-up soon whoever his opponent is. Whether he'll continue to assist against Queen or move on to a Number or someone else. I'm also curious to see where Oda goes with Carrot's story since it doesn't seem over as Perospero gave her the opportunity to get up and leave or continue assisting the alliance.

Regardless of everything else, Wano has me really engaged in the match-ups and it's nice to see all the Straw Hats together in an arc and steeping up to the occasion. I think Wano's been pretty good for most of the Straw Hats and I hope they all get as much focus most arcs going forward.

Brief personal summary of each Straw Hat's showcase at Wano:

Luffy - Great to see him improve his Conqueror's Haki usage despite getting his ass kicked by Kaidou twice. One of his best arcs.

Zoro - Also great to see him improve his Conqueror's Haki usage. Definitely helps make for one of his best arcs.

Nami - Wasn't sure what the point was in having her fight against Ulti play out the way it did, but I'm glad she still got Zeus in the end and has a potentially bigger range of attacks now. Not one of her best arcs, but feels good knowing she'll get her ass kicked less now.

Usopp - Has also been helpful at Wano, but ultimately not one of the best Usopp arcs. Also probably the Straw Hat to have the least time to shine at Wano. Will hope to see more from him later like at Elbaf though.

Sanji - Wasn't sure what was going on with him, including his eyebrow switching around like that, but his fight with Queen was cool and left it with a bigger arsenal through his upgrade enhancements now. His moment of finally asking for back-up help from a crewmate was also a good moment for his character. One of the best Sanji arcs.

Chopper - Was really helpful and shined as a doctor, but I wish I could confidently say the same for him in terms of being a fighter, in spite of what he did to Queen and his rumble ball upgrade. Not one of his best arcs, but still am interested to see more from him later.

Robin - Wano is most definitely the best post-timeskip arc for Robin so far. Great showcase for both his personality and fighting skills in the form of helping Sanji out and attacks like Demonio.

Franky - Had an entertain showcase against Sasaki, in addition to his cool moment of slamming down Big Mom with his motorcycle. Perhaps not the best, but one of the better arcs for Franky.

Brook - Not one of his best arcs, but I still liked his showcase like cutting Zeus in half and taking down one of the Numbers for Robin.

Jinbe - Also not one of his best, but still a good arc introducing Jinbe as a crewmate to the rest of the Straw Hats. Some of his moves in his fight against Who's-Who were pretty cool, and had some nice chemistry with the others like telling Luffy to shut up alongside Zoro and his mature conversations with Robin.

I was so impressed by Chopper

Stalling Queen for dozens of minutes is not something anyone in the crew can come up with

Luffy - Unrealistic portrayal with terrible feats and lost of personality. Luffy is being knocked out early in the raid, getting difficult to pass by a Tobiroppo, getting saved by Yamato, stopped by Queen to reach Rooftop, being forced to take longer route, being helped by Jinbei and Sanji to beat fodders. Underestimating the strongest opponents he ever faced(he never did that before), laughing while fighting his toughest battle(he always had angry face on those), going mad against a fodder because of red beans(Tama plot) but forgiving X-Drake for what he did with Tama's village. And of course "GUTS" moment.

Zoro - Modest portrayal for such incredible feats. Tanking strongest attack on One Piece WHOLE history(I know I'm not holding myself), unlocking ACoC before Luffy, scarring the Strongest Creature, not being knocked out after tanking Hakai + Thunder Bagua FULLY, fighting with full time ACoC, having the attack with the most length of ACoC leak on One Piece WHOLE history.
And he didn't had any recognition from Yonkos but a simple "Do you have CoC? It will leave a mark forever. Great job!"

Sanji - Modest portrayal that fits his currently feats. He win against a YC2 (doesn't matter how the fight went and ended). It was a terrible fight though since it killed his character. His mom's sacrifice was good for nothing, his evil sanji/hitting woman/Zoro kill me plot was good for nothing, his RS was helpful only to save Momo and save him from King. He fought P1 and got overpowered by him only to let USOPP take care of Nami while Ulti and P1 were following them.
He let Usopp and Nami in bigger danger(they would have died if wasn't for Tama) in order to help Luffy beating fodders to his way to rooftop.

Jinbei - Low portrayal for such insane feats. Jinbei is the number 1 nightmare of Yonkos(or number 2 after current Zoro). He is always there to make BM look like a piece of shit. But he only fought such a weak guy like Who's Who. He deserved at least Jack if not Queen. But his character was bad written in his fight with Who's Who. He had no reason to fight him since Who's Who was chilling and not helping in "war", and his "racist" speech makes no sense at all.

Franky - High portrayal with great feats. Although him and Brook doing what he did with BM is too much he was still insanely good. Franky Shogun was so badass fighting Sasaki with a sword. I personally found too fast how he beated him but it also hype up his Radical Beam power. I wouldn't be surprised if it even hurt Kaido a lot.

Robin - High portayal, high feats, low background for it. Why Robin had all that fight to easily win Black Maria with her ultimate? I find that a little weird since it has no drawback to it unless for stamina. But her character was great anyway. Great moment with Sanji too.

Brook - Sometimes it doesn't seem he is there. Cool dialogues and feats against fodders but that's it. No portrayal at all.

Chopper - Only purpose is to heal people from Queen's viruses and then give him a massage. No feat, no portrayal but his character is the same. Great moment saving everybody including Hyogoro.

Nami - Good feat, good portrayal but bad character. Makes no sense for her to stop running and fight Ulti when she had BM over there to do it for her. I would really like for her to have "prime" Zeus on her side instead that bullshit nerf Zeus on her weapon. But is not that bad.

Usopp - Good feat, good portrayal and great character. He tanking Ulti's headbutt is amazing, and his speech to Kin'emon and Kiku was great to his character. He even had Izou calling him GOD Usopp.

Yamato - Not a Strawhat.

Carrot - Not a Strawhat.

Momonosuke - Not a Strawhat.

Tama - Not a Strawhat.
