General & Others Warlord crew discussion : The Thriller Bark Pirates

In this second warlord crew discussion thread we can talk about the second warlord fought by the Straw Hats, Gecko Moria, and his army of zombies and non-zombie subordinates (Absalom, Hogback and Perona).

What are your thoughts on the Thriller Bark Pirates as whole ? Do you like or dislike them ? Who's your favorite member of the crew ?

I liked them.
Moria potentially can create zombies without the end.

Not exactly my favorite crew. I like Moriah and Perona just fine, as well as their power sets, which required a lot more unorthodox solutions to overcome than brute force.

I loathe both Absalom and Hogback. They were detestable and creepy. I don't think they got nearly as much punishment as they deserved, and I didn't find their battles particularly amazing to boot.

The Zombie army was actually pretty cool. It was fun seeing the mannerisms of several characters manifest through some completely different looking individuals, like Sanji's character manifesting through Inuppe. Cindry's whole story was tragic. Oars was a legitimate threat when he forced all the Strawhats to team up in order to beat him. Of the Zombie Generals, only Lola and Ryuma really stood out to me, and they were great. Lola's little friendship with Nami was cute and Ryuma's fight with Zoro was cool.

Overall, I liked the Thriller Bark Pirates, but when it comes to Warlord crews, Baroque Works has everyone beat.

I really like Moria and his personnality, design and powers. I also like Perona and the zombies (how diversified in terms of designs and powers they are and with cool zombies like Oars, Ryuma and Taralan) though Abasalom and Hogback are not very good characters, especially Hogback.

I really like this crew! I wonder what Moria's first crew was like. Only the top commanders seem to be non-zombies (Moriah, Perona, and Hogback are non-zombies, but I'm not really sure if Absalom is a zombie or not. Isn't he just a modified person?)

What's really sad is that he's lost all three of those people recently! We still don't know where Hogback is! Does Moria even know that Perona has been safe and sound for two years? Poor Moria

On paper, they look a lot stronger than they are. They have all these powerful zombie corpses like Oars, Ryuma, Jigoro, John from Rocks, etc, but it all depends on whose shadow Moria uses. Since Moria's in a career slump right now, he probably doesn't have access to a lot of cool shadows, even if he has some pretty powerful corpses.

Fav members: Perona, Cindry, Hildon, Ryuma, Kumashi
Least fav: Absalom, Zombie Lola (real Lola is cool)

I liked this crew, it was full of mysteries and was very dangerous in ''paradise''.
Hogback was the worst though except his laugh, it's one of the funniest in the series lol ''Muuuush mush mush mush mush'' especially in the anime.
Morias's laugh was great too.

Aside from Ryuma zombie and Perona, the rest are trash imo
Captain John zombie has some hype but we didn't see him doing anything
Oars and Moriah both are a mess

I love the Thriller Bark Pirates, Moria is one of my favorite Warlords and having a crew full of zombies was pretty cool. I really like the halloween theme for them, and I also like the df abilities for Moria, formerly Absalom, and Perona.

I think moria aight with his past being the most interesting thing about him. Tho man has balls to try to go head to head with yonko
Challengeing kaido in wano of all places and teach in his own island solo for his crewmate. Even tho he got fucked both times lol stil respect it

I like peronas powers, design, and relationships. Overall she ok to me

Hogback and absalom are nasty so i dont like them much

They are fun as companions who i would spend time with. But as actual combat prowess, the entire crew except Moria would get destroyed by any other Shichibukai crews i think

All right, good, glad someone mentioned this. Ever since the Rocks reveal, I’ve thought about that theory a lot...Moriah’s clearly gonna have some bearing on the story going forward, whether as a member of the Blackbeard Pirates or an enemy of the same, and it would be a stunning reveal for him to have half of that crew in his corner come the Final War. Can you imagine these guys fighting for Luffy’s side against their former shipmates in Kaido and Linlin?

The General Zombies should've been Moria's main crew.

IMHO, Moria will come to Onigashima, like subordinat of Teach, but he will help Luffy with his shadows, and will defeat Jack.
