Questions & Mysteries Was Big Mom originally supposed to go down in WCI?

It was already quite ridicoulous for Luffy to jump from a yc3-4 like Doffy to beating in the same arc a yc3 and then a yc1 plus plundering BM red poneglyph plus general havoc and humiliating her and her status as a yonko more than a time in her HQ and with only half the crew. Beating BM would have been a total joke for the powerscale. Also Kaido and BM are equals or almost, if he managed to somewhat beat BM (with half the crew) that would have made a joke of the whole powerscaling level and at the same time robbed Kaido (and so Wano) of pretty much all his hype.

That’s not what Oda said at all. Stop making stuff up.

Just because Doffy was intended to be in Wano that doesn’t mean his power level was changed and it doesn’t mean he was supposed to be in Big Mom’s position.
Seriously, learn to read. I never said Oda changed his power level. I said the exact opposite.

And Oda just said that current Doffy would be too "troublesome" for Wano and he was to be taken down in DR, meaning this wasn't the old setup. The old setup = Kaido + Joker, not Kaido + Big Mom.

He still planned a BM arc, given FI, and Luffy coming out of WCI as an "Emperor". WCI < Wano was set in stone, but Kaido + BM wasn't.

No Oda did not originally wanted Big Mom to be defeated during WCI, it would have been fucking bad writing for Oda to have Big Mom be defeated with only half of the SHs and only two allies.

I'm pretty sure Oda planned for Big Mom to go down in Wano along with Kaido or for other people's cases to go down in Elbaf, also Big Mom did not replace Doflamingo. The SBS only said that Doffy was supposed to be in Wano as Kaido's ally it did not saying anything or even hint at Big Mom replacing Doffy, I'm pretty sure Doffy was going to be involved with both Kaido and Big Mom during the Wano war but Oda realized that would have been way too much which is why he got rid of him during the Dressrosa arc.

*sigh* Again read what I said. This is before Twirly Hat split up.

I made this argument in WCI: Luffy had to be considered an Emperor before fighting Kaido for Kaido to take him seriously. And voilá, Oda made him a "5th Emperor". But he didn't really defeat Big Mom, and even in that hypothetical, he does not win 1 v. 1. It's Raid Boss like Dressrosa and Current Wano.

With the latest SBS reveal, that the "Joker" was supposed to be the "strong ally" by Kaido's side, does that mean that Luffy's BM beef originally would have ended early?

Even at the end of Dressrosa, we had Kaido talking in "we" the whole time, as in Kaido and Joker together planned to start the greatest War.

Remember, we are not dealing with BM's crew so far. The Straw Hats already "dealt" with them. It's just BM herself.

This clearly means, Oda never planned to FULLY attack 2 Yonko crews head on. 2 Yonko crews are too devastating for even the WG. Just 1 Yonko crew + 1 Yonko as a "strong ally". So in a change of plans, he "dealt" with her crew in WCI, and made her the "strong ally".

Does this mean the Yonko were originally going to go down 1 by 1 sequentially in Big Mom -> Kaido -> Shanks -> Blackbeard order? Maybe Shanks was the first Yonko Luffy 1 v. 1'ed?

Just to add this: Obviously Kaido + Big Mom + Doflamingo is too much, so Big Mom is not involved in this scenario.

Heck, I'd argue just Kaido + Big Mom are too much too handle as is.
Zoro woulda body bagged Meme if he was there

Since we know Katakuri was a swordsman originally, I wonder if this Joker -> Dressrosa, BM/Kaido -> Wano move spurred his changed.

Maybe Zoro was supposed to fight this guy in a duel

Oda clearly retconned this guy to make him a Luffy-type opponent.

Doubt it as Big Mom and Kaido have been built up together ever since Thriller Bark, which subsequently also dealt with a Shichibukai. It would be nice to know what Oda's initial plans for Doflamingo were, but Kaido and Big Mom have been connected plot wise for a very long time. Unless this was meant to happen even before Thriller Bark was written, which I doubt, because what changed Doflamingo's fate, was Law, who was never meant to be as big in the story as he ended up being.
