Speculations Was Mihawk on a Crew Before?

It should occur to most of us that Mihawk probably hasn't been moving around independently his entire life. He wasn't always the strongest swordsman, and he would need a crew to help him even get into situations where he could challenge other swordsmen, wouldn't he?

It's an odd assumption to think that Mihawk was, even as a teen, roaming the seas by himself. He would be contending with who? Whitebeard, Roger, Kaido, Big Mom, and other people like them (Garp, Admirals, Sengoku, the other would-be warlords, etc). He wasn't just neg diffing them every time he encountered them as a teen. It's very unlikely (practically impossible) considering there's no proof he did anything like that.

Kaido was just walking around fucking people up in wars until he was recruited by Rocks at age 15. Mihawk, while he's likely not a natural born monster like Kaido or Big Mom, is probably the same.
He doesn't really need a crew to do these things, he's just always been at the right level of strength to survive on his own.

The difference being you're filling a gap you don't know about when we know Kaido had to rely on things like other people taking him places or feeding him (the marines). Was he his own navigator? Who was taking him from place to place?

There is a lack of proof that Mihawk has roamed the seas freely and without relying on anyone else prior to the way he's been currently portrayed. Yes, as a warlord, he roamed by himself, but would he still do that without the protection of the marines? He commented on how he had to move and be chased after he lost his status. For a guy who is supposedly unafraid of everybody, that's kind of odd. He also shirked at the idea of competing against people like Straw Hat Luffy and Red Hair (Shanks). So, if he's supposed to be posturing, he isn't doing it well.
