Kaido could get a hundred Scar from Blades and still not get beaten.. You attribute wounding someone with a Sword as
definite checkmate.. Maybe if Haki was not involved.. CoC users can get 1000% damage and still go past their limits..
That's why Luffy can still get up in his fights and get it done..

Top Tier CoC don't go down from just being cut or shot by weapons.. They go beyond the what's fathomable, they overcome death when it should come.. Look at Oden he could do this out of world feat of boiling in a pot for an Hour and beat death because he's a Top Tier Conqueror.. Being a Conqueror means to overwhelm death itself.. To impose you Will on Life itself.. That's why Zoro said, i might as well come the King of Hell.. A Conqueror is to impose you Will on Death and Life..

When he fought Mr.1 he knew where the rocks would be falling so he didn’t got flattened by them. He also knew where his swords were under the rocks. And zoro was able to cut metal, the only way to do so is bare minimum CoA.
