I once explained that Devil Fruits are probably filled with Electromagnetic Energy in the form of wavelengths which change the natural wavelength created in a human's body. Therefore, they stop being humans. I used to get called crazy for suggesting it. Repeatedly, I had been told things like "the story isn't complicated like that." Well, it's becoming clearer that this is the case. The "invisible energy" that Kaku felt when he first touched Devil Fruit was Electromagnetic Energy. He thought it was gravitational, but gravity doesn't work on a scale that small. Which meant that he felt it through his aura, and that meant it was an electromagnetic vibration.
So, whenever they have spoken about "vibrations" in the past- it usually meant a wavelength was being used.
Further, I also suggested that one of the previous incarnations of Poseidon had "cursed" the sea by infusing it with his own energy that dampened the wavelengths produced by Devil Fruit users. I called it, "Counter-EM Field." Or, a Dampening Field. The only person capable of producing something on such a large scale would be a person who ruled the entire sea; and the only person who could possibly do that is Poseidon.
Note: Why did Poseidon do this? Well- because Poseidon was part of an Alliance with Uranus and Pluton, but he thought they betrayed him and he didn't know how to protect his people after the Alliance had fallen and he also realized there was crazy technology in the world because they left behind a ton of it and the other crappy kingdoms would eventually find it (including the Devil Fruits). So, he commanded the sea itself to reject Devil Fruit users.
