If you're a member of this forum, you've probably come across a thread from a Usopp fan saying that, Oda is a bad writer, because Usopp didn't shine in this arc, because Oda forgot Usopp, that Usopp was wronged, but the real reason is because Oda didn't follow his pet character's headcannon. This character besides the monster trio (and Jinbei) was the only character that Oda bothered to give Haki, which even Dressrosa had the third highest bounty of the crew (lol). But what headcannon is this? Simple power level. Wano was the arc of power levels, DF awakened, Yonkous, calamities, Zoro exhaling CoC, Sanji with exoskeleton, ACoC everywhere, Straw Hats vs Tobiroppos. But what about Usopp??
-Well, I understand you didn't like the fact that it wasn't used well in Wano, I myself would like to have seen at least one more sample of your CoO, or because Wano is a country that uses seastone, see Usopp using seastone in the your ammo, and maybe, fight and beat a Tobiroppo (P1 would be the most plausible, for being the most fodder). But saying that Oda hates Usopp because he didn't make Usopp use his ACoC to defeat Kaido and Big Mom together and become the Pirate King(lmao), is just pathetic.
-It seems that some people forget that Oda doesn't work on Usopp's power level the same way as Luffy, Zoro and Sanji. Expecting Oda to make Usopp YC2 level from one arc to the next is ridiculous, not because Oda hates him but because that was never the way Oda developed the character's power level. Usopp, unlike other Straw Hats, was never said to be a combatant, and most of the time his strength was tied to his "coward" personality, even in the Straw Hats' biggest arcs, Usopp didn't play a big fighting role. It's funny because I remember seeing a thread from a fan of Usopp saying that he wanted Usopp to go back to being the "strongest" fourth of the crew like he was at the time of Arlong park and yes in Arlong park, Usopp is the fourth most strong, because the crew only had four official members and Usopp was the weakest (lol).
If you are waiting all the time for Usopp to show strength then:
- for you there is only Dressrosa, Ennies Lobby, Alabasta and fuck the other arcs
- you are addicted to PUs
-You're watching too much One Piece theory channels
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Usopp hater, I even think that if Elbaf happens, Usopp will be the main character, and we'll still have his fight against Van Auger that will probably be the best of the character in the entire series. But I just think that some Usopp fans are dramatic and expect things they know won't go the way they want.
