Kubo slowrolled the hell out of the arc until he got told it needed wrapping up, remember the 100 chapters for Ichigo to reach the top only to get counted back down again, and the 2 month fight with the Hand. Awful.

Yeah it was a mess in the second half, the first half of the arc was hype though. And right now the anime is taking its time, adding stuff and making sure those mistakes dont happen again.
