General & Others Were the samurai a false hype by Oda who turned out to be a disappointment?

They have been hyped up by Oda for years as being those strong, fearsome guys that even the WG take seriously and don't want to mess with because they don't even know how strong they're

Akainu didn't want Kizaru to go to Wano because of the samurai even though 2 freaking Yonkos are wrecking shit up there

Which sounds very confusing to me since he was more cautious of the samurai than Kaido and Big Mom and their crews. So i expected the samurai to live up to the hype. Yet the samurai we have seen so far are like YC4 level at best. So relatively mediocre compared to any of the top-tiers

There's not even a single samurai to give Zoro a satisfying swords fight even though Wano is supposedly the land of the finest swordsmen in the world, what a disappointment

Thats the false hype. The least Wano Samurai can do is being stronger than Zoro, in order for Zoro to train new tech or philosophy etc as his narrative and finally surpass the top Wano Samurai. Kyoshiro as Orochi's top guard is an example of potential candidate for this Zoro-centric struggle and plot, but he turned out to be an ally and currently being overshadowed already lol, so i wont get my hopes up for the samurai themselves.

Imagine an Army of 10000 Samurai led by Oden & Prime Hyogoro, Nine Scabbards (+others such as Fukurokuju) as their Commanders, Multiple Powerful Daimyos, allied with Minks Army

It's literally a Yonko-Like Force, the Marines/WG were right to be careful in fighting them
What happened is that Kaido + Orochi Plot destroyed them from the inside & most those Names i mentioned either got Killed or turned much Weaker, but the WG/Marines doesn't know that, so they remained Careful

Theres literally NOBODY worth anything. Only one person in story, Ryuuma, was strong. The samurai known currently are just mentally disabled weaklings

The current state of the Samurai is after 25+ of Kaidou and Orochi taking control and even then they're hella strong. You have to remember the Nine Scabbards only the Kozuku's retainers. If Oden had won his battle against Kaidou 20 years ago then Wano would be stronger than what the Beast Pirates are today.

I admit i didnt expect them to fight good with Kaido, but they did! So good for them. By the way i think the Samurai hype comes from the fact that the rest of the world doesnt know them, and the only ones know outside were Oden and maybe Ryuma,so the two they knew were very very strong!

Current Wano is much weaker than how it used to be, and still it can count on more than one YC level character among its ranks.
If Oden won in Wano today there would be Oden + 9 YC/Top veteran level characters + Hyogoro + Oshimaru. That’s a Yonko level force.
So how in the world are samurai disappointing?

Wano ally samurai were really strong. It is for now and by far the strongest island we have seen.

BUT the real problem is the opposing side of the samurai : Orochi side is so weak. He has Fukurokuju but except him it’s the desert.

Wano had strong samurais and people but lack strong samurai enemies. Kyoshiro ane co could have been great…

False hype, oda does IT and then enemy turns out weak or else luffy loses. Like he said elbaf strongest country, but BM soloed them

To some extent yes, tho it’s true Wano is the only island with previous two top tiers and even if we don’t mention something from the past. Currently they have decent amount of mid and high tiers which once again not many islands have those(exclude the ones under the yonko).

He didn't want to face off a Ryuma 2.0 probably. He doesn't want the smoke.
He spoke about the collective at first glance but I imagine we don't necessarily fully know what he was thinking. I imagine he was afraid of the Samurai as a group force but that could eventually entail particular powerful individuals which is also a straightforward thought. 🤔

He probably wants to be cautious because he doesn't know how strong the Samurais are, and if he encounters several Samurais that were comparable to Ryuma then he is pretty much screwed so he didn't go directly to avoid problems.
