Were you popular at school?

Personnally, I never had the time to worry about popularity, my first worries were not to be beaten up and then finding ways not to end up alone too much.

I guess I learned to accept the inevitability of the first one and acclimated too much with the second
I didn't worry about it. I just was popular at some point and then I withdrawn. Popularity usually isn't very long nor useful.

Being beaten up sounds like the worst part but overall seems nightmarish.

Only recently French politicians have started opening their eyes about harassment and whatnot.

Not at all! I liked a girl named Clelia, and i was friendzoned.

Just a bunch of friends but never hanged out with them outside school because we lived too distant.

So yeah it was like this, but i would use a time machine anyway because hey,i was still a teen!

yes, but not in that cringe american tv/film way. I generally got along with everybody, got voted into things, played sports and generally to this day former classmates hit me up to catch up

oh and i was kinda popular with the girls i guess, I was often in the rumored rankings of the "top 5 hottest guys"

Not until 11th grade when I read Dale Carnegie's How To Win Friends And Influence People and realized "Damn so people actually like it if you do stuff like smiling and being interested in what they say?!".

In my defence I hated school so much (Still did even by the end) that I simply didn't care about acting social and was therefore the weird kid for a long time.

One teacher called me out for never smiling or talking to people, and one kid once told me I was our school equivalent of Fregley from Diary of A Wimpy Kid 😭

.....god I hated school. But yeah after I figured out basic social niceties I got along WAY better with people. I know one guy who told me that he misunderstood me as the arrogant type due to my behaviour before.
