Future Events What’s next for Kizaru after Egghead? Will he face consequences?

Kizaru's primary mission was to kill VP Mission accomplished

Protecting Saturn may be one of his duties as an admiral but it wasn't the mission

Also there where witnesses to Saturn's death multiple VA saw Saturn rapidly age and die so can't really blame him for that one

He completed the mission, and the gorosei met most of their goals

Secure York
Gain control of egghead/ the mother flame
Protect Punk Records

What I really want to know is: what happened after that?
Are they really gonna gloss over Saturn's death and the fact that they failed to secure Punk Records?
Those were literally the two most important parts of the mission.
Borsalino wouldn't be held responsible for this after all the Gorosei joined.

Borsalino's higher ups joined and failed. They're not irrational enough to blame Borsalino for it.

Even if Borsalino wasn’t the top authority once Saturn arrived, he was the one in charge at first, and the mission partially failed right under his watch.
That was the Marines' actual reaction to what was happening, by the way:

No one among them had the slightest idea what was going on.

Even if no one ends up getting punished for what happened, the questions still remain.
How will the Marines deal with the fact that they failed a huge part of the mission?
How will the world even be told about Saturn’s death?
The failure looks even worse when you consider that the public thinks the Marines were there to protect Vegapunk from Luffy.

Well those are different questions than will Borsalino face consequences.

Kizaru is fine, especially now that Mary Geoise is at war and need as many men power as possible, making Kizaru a valuable asset.
Also, Saturn already took the blame for Egghead.

Though I'm really not sure if we'll see Kizaru in the Mary Geoise war, I guess his role will become clearer in the final war.

But if someone’s going to take responsibility for how this mission went, it’s him.
Borsalino told Sakazuki he had done what he was supposed to do, and even Saturn seemed to think the mission was a success.
But then Saturn died, Punk Records was lost, and Luffy escaped.
So I don’t think they can seriously call this a success.

I don’t think Mary Geoise is technically at war right now. It feels more like a high-alert state.
There’s no real army or organized faction capable of launching a direct assault. The only group that could realistically do something is the Revolutionaries, but it wouldn’t make any sense for them to attack now.

As for Kizaru, I think his arc kind of ran its course at Egghead.
I’d find it pretty redundant to see him again moving forward.

The current admirals (except Fujitora) all feel like characters that will eventually need to be replaced.
