This is why I dislike the concept of Awakening, Kaido was even able to do some fire stuff, lighting stuff with his fruit, cloud stuff too, but he lacked what is basically just a powerup which means..... who knows? Especially with Zoans, it´s just strange. I much prefer just letting the reward for characters mastering their fruits to be..... mastering their fruits...
Anyway, maybe we find out when Kaido´s fruit ends up in Shiryu´s sword.

Luffy got a bunch of powers but he wasn't a regular mythical zoan before.
Like Sengoku has a zoan transformation despite being a human zoan and has new abilities from it.
Luffy doesn't have that. His gears involved him heating up his blood or putting air into his bones or muscles combined with haki. Sengoku just transforms. All zoans are like that.
Kaido has already so many powers I don't think awakening would give him anything else but power boost.
