There's no sensible reason why Oda should deprive the MC of the opportunity to avenge his brother. It's very very likely.

After all, there's for example no issue with Akainu > Kaido as long as his fake WSC hype will be ultimately wholly spoilt.

There’s literally no proof akainu is on yonko level. There’s also no reason for Oda to make luffy fight akainu instead of Sabo because the reasons you lost for luffy is the same for Sabo. It actually makes more sense story wise of Sabo fighting akainu

Akainu didn't lose to Whitebeard despite relying on no awakening, he was winning... of course that Shirohige was most likely not yonko level

And I think the idea of Luffy fighting off Akainu is much more consistent than not.
