been rewatching One Piece from the start. And while it has it's issues, it just feel completely different from what we are reading right now.

bring me back to the simple days where the story wasn't trying to overcomplicate itself with a trillion characters and a billion plotlines.

bring me back to when one piece was about dreams, fun, adventure and freedom. Not 100-200 chapter long arcs about the same things.

man WHAT is Oda doing to this story, where has the charm gone? where has the humor gone? why arent characters likable anymore? what is this man doing... eiichiro oda is dead in my eyes, and the story has been taken over by a corporate machine of merchandizing, gags, and tropes.


i dont care if it "ruins" the story, or doesnt make sense, we need to return to the One Piece that we grew to love. not the One Piece we have grown to hate on, pick apart, hate on some more, and write rants on forums about.

Yeah that's fair, outside of Shanks packing Kidd and Garp using ACoC this feels kind of mid.
The DF explanation was nice though.

The humor, heart and romance of the story are all still there.
Writting has definitely taken a hit but the cynicism people here feel for it is the result of their own expectations, agendas and biases.

The story has bwcome more flawed and bloated but the passion is still there and clear to see.
