Tbh there'd still be a huge amount of potential for logias even without awakening.
I mean take Monster forms for example. Like GB's giant tree transformation or Enel's storm form.
We've yet to see any other logia user showcase these and they most likely can.
Not to mention that if logia awakenings aren't a thing, then Punk Hazard was definitely just a result of Akainu and Aokiji being that strong.
(Which is what I already believe tbh. If Ace could stop snowfall just by passing through a town then these two could easily terraform PH by fighting on it.)
We also have yet to properly explore how Logias can interact with the user's haki.
For example, Luffy can use haki with his rubber abilities since he's a rubber man.
I don't see why - for example - Akainu couldn't do the same, like for instance buffing his Meigo with haki for extra lethality.
Hell I'm pretty sure that's what Ice Glove was.
And also Kizaru's defense could be a combo of CQC + Pika + Armament.
So we could see a lot more applications of this especially since Kuzan and Kizaru were reluctant to fight.
I'd also like to add that Admirals have yet to really go all out in any encounter.
For instance, I frequently see many talk about how Luffy was nerfed on EH because he didn't use Bajrang Gun or didn't show enough black lightning trails.
But then you have Kizaru who:
- Barely seems to use any haki at all, and given how haki works, his mental conflict would have nerfed the haki he did use.
- Never once used any heavy duty laser attacks after beating Sentomaru, like this:
Imagine if he'd just teamed up on Luffy with his clones and used these attacks instead of fucking off to go fondle Usopp.
At best you could argue that Luffy could tank it, but Luffy himself was harmed by a glancing slash from a Clonezaru's sword,
And goes out of his way to dodge Kizaru's eye lasers.
And I doubt these are the strongest attacks Kizaru has:
- On Sabaody he simply thought he could hold off Rayleigh while Sento and Pacifistas dealt with Luffy and Co, resulting in an easy mission. Kuma's arrival was what ruined his plan.
- On MF it's pretty much guaranteed that no top tier went all out.
- On EH, Kizaru was ordered by Saturn to avoid damage to vital sections of the island.
Thus reducing the possibility of highly destructive attacks.
This is one example and I'd say it applies to other Admirals too. Kuzan and Akainu wanting to avoid damaging Hachinosu and MF for example.
So yeah Logia awakenings aren't the only aspect of Logias that remain underutilized.
