I'm a bit pissed by these things. One Piece is still the #1 manga in the world right now and proportions are very important when it comes to drawings. I know it is complicated to have them always fit when they are so variegated, but it was their choice to have them as such in the first place.

I don't think he is because he uses a club and not a sword so it's unlikely that even in the past he went with swords.

DF style doesn't change much, expecially when his main weapon will still stay a club.

Also Kaido might have a regular hybrid form and a an awakened hybrid form like the Jailor Beasts or Monster Point. In his awakened hybrid form he might be big enough to use the sword.
