I call it disrespectful u call it what u want.. Shanks is not dumb, and his crew isn't either. They all seem smart; if they decided to attack, Mihawk will take bodies. Mihawk can judge a person strength accurately, and isn't a brute so words can sway him. Shanks knows this, but idk if they're friends, that's headcanon.

This was addressed in chapter 1, I think, shanks retaliate when his friends are threatened...not when abused.
