Reality is pretty fucking insane, honestly. I'm not saying I have superpowers or anything, just that Haki is based on people's feats in real life. It's a pirate comic. The story of One Piece is not real, but it's based off of a lot of concepts in real life. The meaning behind One Piece is very real to me.

Haki is, unironically based off of real life "powers".

Conqueror's is charisma. Dictators/leaders, people who can manipulate/lead large groups of people wield this. People like Martin Luther King Jr can use this charisma to create great, beautiful change, while people like Hitler can use it to destroy entire nations. The ability to move the hearts of others is very dangerous indeed.


Observation is clairvoyance. "Predicting the future" is really just paying enough attention to reality, IMO. Look up Laplace's Demon, then Leadbeater (well, here's a link: https://archive.org/details/occultchemistryc00besa ). Clairvoyance is real, but incredibly difficult to pull off. It's very hard to naturally tap into that flow. You ever see someone act just before tragedy happened, or watch a sports team run a play so well, it looks like they were reading each other's minds? Yeah.

Armament is fighting through channeling energy/with adrenaline. Speed is weight. Weight is force. Force is energy. All combat revolves around displacing energy in order to form force. Haki is real, it's just not as flashy in real life (I'm not saying you can go Super Saiyan if you shout hard enough). Haki/Ki is about balancing your body and mind (Armament/Observation) so your spirit (Supreme King) is in harmony. I have a lot of love for One Piece, it's a very spiritually healing series. Oda's sense of philosophy is very fun to analyze and think about. Lots of Taoist sensibilities.

For a long time, I wanted to rule the world, like Rocks/Buggy/Doflamingo, too. One Piece made me realized I'd be miserable if I had power like Doflamingo. I'd just spend all my time hating people and wishing my past was different. If I was god, now, I'd choose to just be some dude. I wouldn't even want people to know I was god. Clout is dangerous. The human ego is dangerous. I've had some Doffy laughs on some bad days, man.



No offense, but I hope you don't enslave the world, but find your own One Piece, instead. My dream is to create a world where life if respected, and death is accepted as something natural that leads to a new cycle, rather than something to be feared and used to cause pain. I don't want kids like Tama to starve (or get abused). Suffering is a part of growing up, but we don't need to abuse people the way our world currently does. To me, Luffy is the strongest character in One Piece, because he frees and exalts people, rather than hates or dominates. I want to live like Luffy.
