Shanks is never meant for Zoro and will never be. We just finished from this delusional ZKK and the next fanfic is Zoro vs Shanks? Zoro fans really be wanting Luffy’s opponents so bad. Either way Zoro surpassing Shanks is one thing and needing to fight him or the one who defeats him is another. It’s like saying Luffy has to defeat all yonko and admirals with his own hand just cuz Chinjao and Luffy claimed they need to do it. It simply won’t happen all he needs is beat the strongest and that’s it.

I’m personally not sure what route Oda would take, but it’s one of the two SHs vs RHP or RHP vs BBP tho Oda has started the series with the premise of Luffy surpassing Shanks and you know the rest so let’s see. And no Luffy can do shit against swordsman thanks to an ability called haki which can help dodge and block attacks let’s not forget Luffy deflected a slash from Kaido bare handed thanks to haki yet received not damage, it’s a matter of using CoA and CoO.

It was Mihawk chasing Luffy and attacking him it isn’t even considered a clash or a fight lol. If Zoro even tries to kill Shanks he is bound to bite the dust by Luffy cuz he won’t allow it.

I think its ridiculous that this theory is being criticized for suggesting Zoro vs Shanks will happen. If anything, y'all should criticize the evil shanks aspect of it, as that's probably the least likely aspect of it.

But Zoro vs Shanks fulfills both Zoro's desire to be WSSM and Luffy's desire to have his crew surpass shanks's. Unless Oda pulls a curveball on us, Luffy has effectively surpassed shanks in wano. Kaido is the WSC and Luffy defeated him, he has just done something shanks never could. Zoro vs Shanks would therefore be more impactful than Zoro vs Luffy, as Luffy has already defeated a stronger yonko.
