Have y’all ever found it a bit sus that they just have a guy with a Smoke DF named Smoker?
Given the other names of the vice admirals, I feel like it’s very likely that Smoker is a code name, rather than Smoker’s real name.
We know marines use code names. Kizaru, Aokiji, Akainu, etc. are all code names. If admirals have code names why can’t Smoker also have one?
Take for example Onigumo, a spider man who’s name literally translates to “demon spider”.
What about Dalmatian, who’s literally a Dalmatian?
You also have Doberman, who similarly has the name of a dog.
While not all marines have such names. Jaguar D Saul was obviously Saul’s real name. I think it’s possible that marines can elect to have a code name.
Overall, I think Smoker is just a code name and I think in the future Smoker’s real name will be revealed. This name will, no doubt, also reveal Smoker as a member of the D clan.
This way, both Koby and Smoker will parallel Garp. Koby will have his fighting style and eventually ACoC. Smoker will have a D. Basically what Oda did for Kid and Law.
