No one will ever convince me that Gekishinβs defeat was even remotely understandable
Riboku was tactically demolishing Gekishin before Houken humiliatingly one shot him
The only thing Gekishin did that was impressive was reading that Riboku hid his headquarters, which arguably wouldnβt have even mattered since Riboku is the best retreater in China and was far above Gekishin tactically anyway.
Every other defeat on this list was at least understandable to one extent or another. Houken literally called Gekishin a fraud to his face before he one shot him.
Gakujou loosing to Renpa despite ridiculus number advantage was kinda nuts. Renpa did give him some praise, but it's unclear if he even achieved anything specific before Renpa's glaive reached his neck.
Depends on what metric we use. In terms of losses it would be the current campaign. If going with the least amount of difficulty, it would be Gekishin or Gakujou.
Gekishen against Houken* not Riboku
Other than that I'd say Riboku during the coalition, the odds were insanely stacked in his favor
Oukutsu and Kanmei is a bad bad one, Kanmei is one badass general and I appreciate his strength, but damn he was merely an upstart and just straight up dismantled the physically strongest Qin6 in a single sweep
Ousen's in Hango is a major flop too but the event itself is nowhere near as grandiose as Coalition vs Qin, and the odds were against him from the beginning unlike Riboku
losing your entire army numbering more than 100K is just ridiculous
Oukotsu was a tough one but at the end of the day it was just a 1v1 defeat with no consequence for his state. Gekishin was up alone against Houboku so he is excused especially after what happened to Ousen.
Gakujou managed to defeat the main force Renpa used as bait so that's something at least.
Go Hou Mei with 150 000 soldiers and 3 Fire Dragons lost against Tou with 54 000 soldiers, what make it worse is that The Plan was devised by a 4000 man commander.
The odds were in his favor but not that much.
It is true the coalition outnumbered Qin 2.5-1 But:
1-Qin's Generals were much much much better than The Coalitions commanders(I mean One of the battles was literally Ousen against Ordo...),Kanmei and Karin were the only ones worthy of being there and even then they were defeated by Qin generals,The Coalition may had the numbers but they surely lack in The Quality when the best Yan could send is Ordo
2-Qin had the advantage of of being in defence and I hope I don't need to talk about Kankoku Pass.
3-The Qi threat.
Even then Ri Boku managed to bypass all of this and only get defeated because of 1- Kingly BS that turned a bunch of kids and women To Warriors who can fight for days without sleeping,2-a 30 000 strong army appeared out of nowhere....
The Coalition lose was never as big L as many believe.
