Shanks besides all his strengths, has one weakness that is exploitable, but most exploitable by the man known as Teach.
Teach is in his head, we know this. He was scarred by him, says it's the only scar out of many that still aches till this day. He went to Warn WB about him and WB did not heed his warning and look what happened, BB took his place. He knew BB was weird from the moment he saw him on WB's crew when they were kids. He actively wants to know his whereabouts because he is worried about what BB is planning, as he should be.
It would be plain wrong to say he is underestimating teach in any way, he understands how dangerous Blackbeard is. So how should BB be able to deal with him if at all? Shanks has mastery over all Haki forms, the quake fruit can only go so far, despite it's capacity for destruction being essentially unparalleled. We also know that BB has great durability thanks to his yami no mi. Being able to eat Kroom from Law, when it could break Big moms bones. But how well is it gonna do against Shanks's CoC?
I can't see shanks losing to BB, unless:
Shanks has been shown to have a rage that is incomparable to anyone else. The gorosei say he'd be unstoppable if he was enraged, and while this only seems like a good thing in terms of prowess and haki and whatnot. It's actually a double bladed sword.
Rayleigh said that if you are going to overuse your haki, you better have it under control, because you will end up affecting those you do not wish to affect. Similarly oda has said in an sbs that, someone with mastery over CoC can pinpoint those they wish to spare the effects from.
Shanks is shown to make this mistake that Rayleigh is talking about, when he is using haki on GB. He knocks out newer members of his crew, which he SHOULD have been able to spare, if he had control over his haki when OVERUSING it in this situation against GB, and I will get back to what overusing might mean in regards to Shanks.
Suffice to say, Shanks here is making a mistake with CoC, because of his rage. In this instance it's directed towards GB, and that is not the person who he potentially despises the most, not even close. Now, what else could Shanks make this mistake with, in terms of haki? Obs haki, because we know you have to remain somewhat calm to use it in the first place.
Some people might say you can still use it while mad, because kaido was using it despite having is different modes of emotion and whatever but, what Katakuri said in chapter 884, was not incorrect, when talking generally about obs haki. You can be overly excited or affected by an emotion and not be able to use it.
Just because Yonko level fighters have better emotional management when in battle, due to their experience, and can still use FS does not mean this rule does not apply. This is why despite shanks being shocked he could still use FS on kidd, and similarly with Kaidos situation.
The point I'm making here is that, this potentially means that, similarly to how Shanks lost control of his Conquerors haki, while enraged, he could also lose his ability to use Future sight (and Obs haki in general) while enraged, depending on just how angry he gets. People speculate that Shanks might have created the ability to cancel out someone else's ability to use Obs haki, when fighting Mihawk, because Mihawks epithet is clairvoyant, and so on. I think it also makes sense that the reason why Shanks developed this ability, is so that in case he becomes overwhelmed with rage and can't use FS himself, he can still at least cancel out the opponents ability to use FS as well, thus evening out the playing field.
But now you see here the potential of shanks rage, Hindering his ability you use obs haki as well as keep his CoC under control. These are indeed weaknesses to be exploited, because forget GB, if BB does something underhanded, it could potentially make shanks the most enraged he has ever been in his life, something that only BB doing could cause him to be like that. Perhaps it is something to do with luffy, or his crew, whatever BB does it will send Shanks into straight up roid rage mode and overusing his haki like he's never done before.
In regards to CoC, this situation won't even be close to him just knocking out fodder on accident. This could mean his CoC loses control on the same level he used when he tazed GB, imagine that haki lightning, but spewing out from all sides instead, affecting not just anyone in front of him, but his literal commanders, like Roo, or Beckman, Yassop etc.
And in regards to obs haki, well, in that type of situation he won't even be using it, and I'm not saying shiryu is going to 100% kill shanks like this or something, but he won't be able to see something coming, whatever it is, if he is not in a state to use FS or Obs haki. So he is not only going to hinder himself, but his crewmates. And having the most well rounded crew doesn't matter if you incapacitate their ability to help. And although individually he might be at his "strongest" during this rage, it could also be argued that this is his weakest state, and that is the weakness I'm saying BB can exploit.
And it's obviously not going to be easy, if it can taze an admiral, then how is someone going to get close enough to even do damage to shanks, well I don't know.
Now of course, shanks might stick around anyway till the final battle with imu, and he takes imu out with luffy like how they did in the movie to that thing I don't know the name of, and obviously getting rid of shanks would kill a potential cash show so obviously his downfall might not happen, even if he loses at some point, but it's nice to speculate either way.
