Powers & Abilities What narrative sense does it make that Kaido is currently the strongest?

Kaido praising someone for being a monstrous samurai when compared to the forays he faced after that samurai doesn't invalidate the words Blackbeard directing praise to kaido as being a fearsome monster.
His answer was so out of context, as expected of a MONKEY.
Dreaded is an adjective: "regarded with great fear", that's basically the reputation Kaido built around as a merciless warmongering ogre that's hard to reason with, Teach mentioned how the world perceived him, not how he himself did. If it was the latter then it would have been something along the lines of "the monster who i dreaded".

Cuckdo fans can't tell what a word means. :steef:

WTF, a fearsome person is someone to be feared, and of course building a reputation is important, that's what makes him fearsome, no one will be considered feared for 0 reasons, and Blackbeard is well aware of the factors and reasons that lead kaido to be a fearsome person.
and NO matter how much you scream and cry, nothing will change the fact that when Blackbeard was referring to kaido he mentioned that he is a fearsome monster.
And again, as I explained in the thread, whoever is being brought to SBS and magazine and mentioned in Vivre Card and the manga as being the strongest after the MF war is KAIDO and not blackbeard, deal with it.

Excellent question. I see a lot of people with this doubt, after all, if Kiado is the strongest, what's the tension of fighting someone weaker later?

But I answer you. First let's remember that Oda declared that One Piece should end in another 5 years. As everyone knows, it will last longer, but the meaning that matters to us is that this is the final stretch.

Wano started in 2018, even if One Piece spans another 10 years, it's possible that Oda will only make 2 more arcs.

What I'm saying with all this is that Luffy won't have many enemies anymore, probably just Teach and Im and here we answer his question.

I don't think Luffy will fight Akainu or some other antagonist on Elbaf. As a matter of time and narrative too, I only see him fighting with Teach who, when he gets the third fruit, will surpass Kaido. And in the end we have Im because no one knows of his existence I believe it is valid to think that he can be stronger than Kaido.

In his 50s and haki just recently blossomed :suresure:
That's not a problem.

Nowhere it was stated that characters can't get stronger during that age, it was really all speculation based off linear real life logic which was also faulty because even in real life some stats can be empowered during that age.
