General & Others What was Kaido to Whitebeard ? and What Shanks really is ?

Kaido, BM and WB been in one crew, Its been mentioned by BM that she always considered Kaido as Younger brother, while we know WB always cared much more about his crewmates than BM, so what was Kaido for WB then ?
Kaido was shown to have strong feeling/respect to WB the first time Kaido was introduced and WB didnt go after Kaido even when he learned that Kaido killed Oden, of course it is stated that he feared Kaido but again if he feared death he wouldnt go to Marineford... so maybe it really is that WB also considered Kaido as little brother just like BM and he couldnt bring himself to kill Kaido even after him Killing Oden,
back to Kaido, he even wanted to intervene in marineford war because of WB, it was mentioned that he wanted to fight WB but that doesnt make much sense because he could do that any time he wanted, and if he wanted WB dead he once again didnt need to join the war since even if Marines hadnt killed WB, WB would be so vulnerable that Kaido could destroy him and his forces without too much effort, and as I said Kaido respected WB so ...
lets take the scenario as Kaido actually wanted to help/save WB, he cared enough about WB to even fight marines for him, maybe as an older brother... so if that were the case then...
what does that make shanks ? he stopped Kaido from helping WB, how he did it is still mystery but he stopped Kaido and appeared right after WB was killed... could it be that even back then he was sent by Gorosei/Imu to stop Kaido and by doing so extinguish "light" of WB and then to stop Marines and Pirates from fighting and killing each other since objective of killing WB was already achieved... could it be that Sengoku knew who he was and thats why he stopped war without hesitation

So Newgate, someone with high moral standards who doesn't forgive murder even if done by one of his sons who sailed with him for a decade, somehow ignored Kaido, who only shared memories with during the Rocks days, the same crew where they killed each other on the same ship, to the point that their lack of comradeship led to the remaining members to belittle the time they spent together? Makes sense.

So what kind of affection did Whitebeard have for someone as chaotic and insane as Kaido? Even Meme was extremely casual and asking whether Kaido is dead or not when the scabbards jumped and smashed him on the floor. Kaido himself realized that she started to show her true colors when she was constantly asking about the Poneglyphs whereabouts.
