This is unfortunately the correct answer. Lots of characters lost their agency and were basically puppets in the hands of Oda used to make the SH easily beat the Kaidou+BM alliance, Kid was one of them.
And he ain’t even the most ridiculous example in that situation. How the fuck did Jinbei know how to travel to Wano, how did he know that precise night there was a rebellion in the works, and how was he able to know the exact time and location of the alliance? At first I thought he was some kind of 3rd party spy since the situation was ridiculous, but nope, it’s just Oda breaking all pretense of realism to help the SHs.
