What was shanks’ goal with his meeting with the Gorosei?

Personally, I feel he was planning on taking down Blackbeard and was looking to gain assistance from the world government to ensure his downfall.

I find it similar to when shanks met with whitebeard to discuss recalling ace because Blackbeard is such a threat.

I believe this is connected to the warlords as well.

Shanks was probably aware that if the warlords were taken down Blackbeard would look to increase the strength of his crew by recruiting them.

As such Shanks likely pushed the world government to send powerful individuals to ambush the BB pirates when he himself is likely looking to ambush BB himself as a way to take him down before it becomes too much of an issue.

The reason I think this is because it perfectly connects the warlords downfall subplot, the Blackbeard pirates “if their going to fall to the world government I’ll claim it myself”, and the Shanks meeting.

How about you? What are your thoughts on shanks’ meeting with the Gorosei and what it’s after effects will be.

I think it was about the Blackbeard pirates. I think him and Blackbeard both know something that we readers don’t and Shanks is trying to stop him from reaching his goal.

I really want to know why Shanks was just able to walk in there. What’s his status in the world outside of Yonko. Is he an ex celestial?

I don’t see it being about Luffys fruit because he stole it from them in the first place.

Either he's talking about Blackbeard, or Luffy
I think as opposed to Luffy's Nika no Mi, a special Zoan fruit that has the properties of Paramecia, Blackbeard's fruit is also a special Zoan fruit that has the properties of Logia, and is directly connected to a god that fought Nika/JoyBoy in the Void Century.

Thats a really good point. I’d prefer the plot line saying Rayleigh told him or he’s reached raftel even. But I am still curious as to why he can just walk up to the gorosei of all people.

Something about that doesn’t sit well with me.

I think thinking about Blackbeard is the natural instinct, even I thought it was about him for a long time, but this is the sentence that surprises the reader.

Before we didn't know about Nika, now we do, and it's all related to Shanks because he carried fruit.

He is probably the most important man in the world, the man who is at one time talking to gorosei and the other time with Whitebeard is a man with an unimaginable networking.

If there's anyone I believe knows the world's darkest secrets, it's Shanks.

I think pretty much everyone agrees that Shanks is either Xebec's or Tenryubito's son, and even though he's Xebec's son, he can impersonate Tenryubito's son to gain that access. Shanks strikes me as a conservative and the return of Joyboy would bring change but with many consequences, which Shanks might not like.

God Valley took place 38 years ago, Shanks and Buggy are 39 and have been on Roger's ship since they were babies, I'm sure they are orphans from that war. Perhaps the two sons of Tenryubites, perhaps a son of Xebec, we don't know for sure, but I believe he has this access to the Gorosei because of that, in the same way that Doffy also had it for being Tenryubito's heir.

See and I think there’s a reason oda had the Gorosei meet with both shanks and imu.

I believe that Shanks and them talked about Blackbeard, a previous enemy of shanks. Meanwhile Imu and them talked about Nika, a previous enemy of Imu.

Agreed with you, BlackBeard and his crew would be preparing something in the future, collecting powerful DFs or Poneglyph's location or something dangerous to the world.

Shanks asked the Gorosei to not capture his daughter for being a pirate 'cause she ain't evil and is only trying to create world peace through music.

Then the Gorosei asked what they'd get in return. Shanks gave them info about Nika-Nika fruit.

Shanks daughter is more important to him than Luffy.

The real reason of Shanks meeting Gorosei is not something we can find in current content. Oda will add an element, Shanks discovered Blackbeard's plan and needs WG help because he can't handle him alone.

But... your thread make me realizing one thing. How the hell Shanks knew about Ace going after Teach? Same to Kaido, how the hell he knew Kaido was going to Marineford? And Big Mom? She simply had no interested? Or Shanks did something too but WG/Marines don't know?

he is against creating a new world, he wants to keep things as they are and thinks new world bringa more unfortunate events and that is why he will eventually have to face off Luffy, he told WG so that maybe they would stop Luffy and shanks himself woildnt have to spill Luffy's blood
