It was simply done as an “organic” way to push Robin vs Black Maria while also:
1. Hyping sanjis armament haki
2. Showing Sanjis development since Ennies Lobby

Right it did kinda hype sanjis coa. But it would have been better if it was hyped on the roof top. I mean I am not against zoro being on the roof or something like that but why not sanji also? 🥹

Sanji got a really nice development with Black Maria, but still I'm really sad that he did not get a piece of kaido. Now all the Sanji-haters already said a lot of times Sanji would get one shotted by him but in reality even them don't believe this. If Killer was there, Sanji could have too.

Sanji stopped Vergo from hitting Tashigi and stopped King from killing Momo, and then both king and vergo ran away from him.

He won against both

Sanji's only L was against doffy, but even in that situation he stopped doffy from killing his crew.

Sanji didn’t go on the roof because he isn’t part of the Worst Generation. The point of the fights against Big Mom and Kaido was to have the old guard from the Rocks era be overthrown by a bunch of upstarts

Oda fooled us clearly

Rooftop was basically Oda pushing Enma Zoro to his limit first time post-ts, but he was fighting alongside 4 other characters that were helping each other constantly. I feel like that portion was Oda's compensation for Zoro not being in WCI.
