Kaido and BM being awakened is a big reach tbh. Every other character that's been revealed as awakened so far has had it explicitly stated and shown.
It's a mistake on Oda's part. It is what it is.
But honestly, it just goes to show that there's no singular "god power" as the be-all, end-all in the OP verse. There are a bunch of top tiers who fight only/mostly with haki, a bunch of top tiers who fight only/mostly with their DFs, some who are crazy physical anomalies, etc.
In BM's case, she has all three. A physical monster, advanced haki and a powerful DF. She didn't really need an awakening. She simply lacked competence as a fighter imo.

We can't just pick and choose whichever feels convenient lol.
If you want to go down that route, then do it for all examples.
No, it has never been explained that Gladius or Diamante's ability can affect their surroundings from the start.
They were just able to do it from the start. We don't know whether it's Awakening or not.
Their fruits turn them into Flag Man & Rupture man respectively, their ability can be awakening for all we know.
And it's not like Oda never did it with other characters;
In Skypeia, Enel wasn't the only one with Mantra, his Priests had it as well.
In Enies Lobby, Lucci wasn't the only Rokushiki master, the rest of CP-9 also had Rokushiki abilities.
In Fishman Island, Hody alone didn't take Steroids, his subordinates also did.
In a similar way, it can easily be that Doflamingo alone wasn't awakened, his subordinates were also Awakened df users.
Corazon is an undebatable argument though.
Until his last moments he didn't "assign" the silent bubble to himself.
In his final moment, he did it onto Law, before that he's never done it.
Even then he talks about being alive until Law gets out of range that him crying won't be audible to Doffy.
The way his fruit works also works just like Kid's fruit for example,
Kid's fruit turns himself into a Magnet Man as a base ability & his Awakening is to "Assign" such Magnetism to others.
Rocinante's fruit turns himself into a Silent Man as a base ability & his Awakening is to "Assign" that Silent Bubble to others.
So what gives?

Like someone like absalom or gladius isn't just gonna gave and casually use awakening
Absalom is an invisible man and can turn things he touches invisible. Blueno is a door man and can make his surroundings doors. Gladius's fruit man ability is to touch things and make them explode. It was explicitly said his ability work on inorganic things
You cant really compare extremely common or accessible abilities to awakening.
Coo is an extremely common ability
Most marines and world government agents are trained in rokushiki
Eating steroids is something literally anyone could do

With how easily and casual rosi was able to pull it out i doubt it. He was getting his ass beat by vergo bad even

Bonney can age herself and others that doesn't mean awakening. Thats just her normal fruit abilities. Same with shinobu

Law base ability is creating Room while using his body as the circle's center while his awakening is the ability to create rooms without the need of his body as the circle's center(ex: giant Room sword against big mom, slicing blackbeard's horse from afar and KROOM on blackbeard's while several meters Far from him.
Kid base ability is using his body as a magnetic field while his awakening "assign" literally turns another person into a magnetic field.
