I mean people forget Pica fought Zoro for like 40-50 plus chapters and he was considerably weaker than Zoro and nowhere near as versatile as Lucci. Oda was keeping Zoro away from Doffy so much that he even deliberately let Fujitora intervene at point and Zoro still looked good against an Admiral lol. The execution of dragging things out is what messes things up.
Pica,Hyouzou, chimney, getting lost all over the place, Monet etc.... He could of neg Monet and Hyouzou in 1 milli second but wasted time.

Blaming plot/oda isn’t a reason
Blaming plot/oda is a lame excuse when there are in verse reasons
- Luffy needed to fully try to get out between the houses and nami helped give him more incentive
- Zoro needed his sword to get out the chimney
- Monet was never really stalling zoro and for most the fight Tashigi was fighting her. If anything only reason Zoro didn’t quickly end it was because she’s a women and zoro in general doesn’t like cutting them even tho he would if need be
- Hyouzo was too weak to the point zoro gave him a chance to run away. Weak to the point that zoro didn’t care
- Pica was running off half the fight doing everything but fighting zoro. Pica only stalled by not fighting

Zoro doesn’t like cutting women. Again not liking it doesn’t make it any less part of his character
Zoro is a character with his own traits and personality. It’s a story getting upset everyone isn’t going all out blood lusted unrestricted is stupid. It’s a manga not a battle forum
