Do you think we'll see him in action or is Ol' Oda planning on a funny gag where he plays with the idea that this guy has had a pretty easy time this arc.

I believe the world government is going to try to take down Kaido while Luffy and the alliance are escaping, and Kaido on his side just got some motivation to defeat the WG agents that are in Wano.

He already killed Who's Who, he will clean the mess and capture Luffy too after he beats Kaido, and together with BM, King and Kaido hand them to Gorosei.
